Evacuations in place as crews battle 1,400-acre fire in Solano County, CA
WINTERS, Calif. —
Crews are battling a 1,400-acre fire in Solano County that ignited Saturday afternoon, according to Cal Fire.
The Quail Fire began around 4 p.m. off of Quail Canyon and Pleasants Valley roads, southwest of Winters, Cal Fire said.
The fire was 10% contained as of Sunday morning. Crews fighting the fire dealt with windy conditions overnight.
Officials say an estimated 80 homes are threatened and Pleasants Valley Road is closed. Three structures have been destroyed.
Evacuations are in place for those on Quail Canyon Road from Pleasants Valley Road to Highway 128.
An evacuation center has been set up at the 3 Oaks Community Center, located at 1100 Alamo Drive in Vacaville, according to Cal Fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries have been reported.
