>>9524047 'Soon to be the walking dead': Half of universities predicted to vanish -wnd

notable

>Top tier universities are not about education - they are about making connections and joining secret societies.

>This is wonderful news! The indoctrination centers will close down, the dumb profs will have go get REAL jobs and our taxes should go down a lot.

>Screw coronavirus, universities turn out nothing but political activists and communists revolutionaries anymore. Academia is Mostly responsible for the fact that we have educated, spoiled brat millennials burning down cities right now and beating people up in the streets.

>Good! That is a great way to rid our country of communism!

"They are soon going to become the walking dead," said New York University professor Scott Galloway in a PBS interview, the Daily Wire reported.

He said one-quarter to one-half of the universities and colleges could go out of business because of the impact of the coronavirus shutdown and the fact that foreign students who pay full tuition are the "cash cow."

They, he said, simply "might decide not to show up."

"What department stores were to retail, tier-two higher tuition universities are about to become to education and that is they are soon going to become the walking dead," he said.

He said the holding of classes via Zoom has been a revelation to many.

"Students I think across America along with their families listening in on these Zoom classes are all beginning to wonder what kind of value, or lack thereof, they’re getting for their tuition dollars.

"There’s generally a recognition or disappointment across America, and I would argue that it’s not that they’re disappointed in the Zoom classes, it’s more the recognition that Zoom has uncovered how disappointing college education is. I think there’s a lot of households saying, 'This is what we’re paying for?'"

He said the top tier schools will survive.

"The elite, truly high-end universities are gonna be fine; the head of Harvard admissions has stated publicly that he could double the size of his freshman class and not sacrifice any quality. So it’s a great time to be on the waiting list of a top-tier university ‘cause you’re probably gonna get a call," he said.

"There are 4,500 universities in the U.S., you could see a thousand to two thousand go out of business in the next five to ten years," he said.

>>9524061 Police: Officers injured after protesters throw ‘improvised explosives’ in Seattle

SEATTLE — Officials with the Seattle Police Department say several officers were injured during a clash with protesters outside the East Precinct in Capitol Hill Saturday night.

Around 7:30 p.m., police said demonstrators began moving barricades set up near 11th and Pine.

Police said they made multiple requests for them to stop.

Some of the demonstrators then began throwing rocks, bottles and “improvised explosives” at officers, police said.

The police department tweeted out a picture of what appears to be the remnants of a candle and a glass container in their original report about the “improvised explosives.”

Police Chief Carmen Best was asked about the photo but she did not clarify what types of “explosives” were thrown.

Best said two of the injured officers were sent to the hospital. She did not give a further update on their conditions.

Protesters at the scene told KIRO 7 there were some “instigators” in the crowd, but stressed that many people in attendance are promoting peace.

After the confrontation between police and demonstrators on Capitol Hill, the Seattle Police Officers Guild sent a letter to the mayor on behalf of its members expressing its concern after some demonstrators threw objects at officers.

The letter from SPOG President Officer Mike Sloan said in part:

“I’m writing this letter to inform you of the tenuous situation impacting SPOG members at the Seattle Police Department East Precinct. As I author this letter, several objects have been thrown at officers which have exploded. Several SPOG members are injured. As the situation on the ground devolves into more violence, singularly perpetuated by a group of criminal agitators on the west side of the barricade on Pine Street and 11th Avenue, I’m fearful that further exposure to SPOG members from these criminal violent acts will have drastic repercussions for public safety.”
