Swiss anon here. Compelled to drop a few lines in response.

The soil on which the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) was erected is actually not part of Switzerland; It's an extraterritorial area - Swiss police has no jurisdiction there. Meanwhile, it's probably the most heavily armed and guarded place North of the Alps.

The opening ceremony for the Gotthard base tunnel was fucking weird. it was supposedly based on old Traditions from Loetschenthal, an area near the Gotthard mountain, where people ritually used frightening masks to chase away the devils of winter, each year during springtime.

Then, someone tried to make "art" of it, obviously. It cost the People of Switzerland Millions and everybody was like WTF IS THAT SHIT, except for a bunch of politicians who went all lyrical wax 'bout it. Fucking weird indeed.

Another interesting fact is that the Schweizergarde, which is in charge of the catholic Pope's security at the Vatican, only ever recruits Swiss catholic men. It's a historical arrangement, dating back to a time when Swiss soldiers were widely regarded and renowned as an absolutely fierce bunch of ruthless warriors.

Things have changed a lot ever since.

Today, some of us look in dismay at the onslaught of socialism that threatens our country as well, threatens to end our freedoms and to destroy our federal republic. All while we're located right in the middle of the lunacy that is the EU, while not taking part in the club.

Caught between a rock and a hard place, so to speak.

Anon is glad that the Eagle still soars and that the pillar of free, western civilization that is the USA was not brought to destruction over the past weekend - For it would have meant the end of all liberty, for the whole western world.
