Anon was lucky enough to be in Germany during the entire World Cup in 2006. Ghana qualified for the very first time in history. Met these 3 Black gentlemen at a beer garden the week of the Friday kick-off game. Got together with them 2 more times at the same beer garden. They were from Ghana.
They wore that cloth. Not as a scarf, more like a robe. They were very friendly, we had a great time together. They were very proud of being Ghanain and respectful of all. Oh yeah, they made it out of group stage, then lost 0-3 to Brazil in knock-outs.
They finished 2nd in their 4 team group, losing only to Italy (who won the Cup). Group stage scores: 1st: lost to Italy 0-2. 2nd: beat Czech Republic 2-0. 3rd.: beat USA 2-1
