Your life is the sum total of good and bad things that happen to you according to your choices
Your life also affects other peoples' lives and vice versa

"Punishment" for bad actions lies in the consequences that get to you. If you don't like that you do good things so you get the consequences of good things back.

Yes, that is true, and God's laws can be observed by anyone in their daily life. There is no need for imaginary intermediaries of any sort. The energy of God from your soul is enough to guide you.
