"Stop treating us like animals and thugs

and start treating US with some respect." – Mike O'Meara

What he didn't say:

We put ourselves into dangerous crimes scenes to protect EVERYONE.

We see the aftermath of auto crashes where bodies are crushed

and the injured are screaming.

We witness some of the worst in humanity and every day must

heal from the realities of it.

We sacrifice time with our own families to keep everyone else's family safe.

We endure insults and accusations when our intentions are innocent.

So:

Before accusing a policeman of anything, maybe you should take the time

to walk a mile in his/her shoes.

touche'

when policemen share a hardship singular to themselves

they might well tend to build protections around and brotherhood

perhaps if they really knew that the public sees what they endure

they wouldn't cling so tightly to each other

and create their own tight culture

gratitude inspires high-mindedness

resentment inspires bitterness

unions need to protect their own from corruption or KICK THEM OUT

all good points

(not an officer)

I just woke up one day to the fact that

police are the ones who scrape dead bodies off of streets

how much would you want to be paid to do that?

again, you have very good points

there need to be standards that conform to Constitutional LAW

I watch a lot of "film the police" videos so I've seen some bad stuff.

The BAD needs to get fixed.

My point is

I can understand how the corruption BEGINS

and

a rotten apple REALLY DOES spoil the whole bunch
