The increasingly irrational behavior of the "left" has led me to consider the possibility that their behavior is partly subconscious and foreshadows some epic event to which they are responding to in an automatic fashion.
Maybe an epic event being the peak fulfillment of a world without the ability to control narratives; one perhaps, to them, of nightmare, death, and meaningless existence. So if they cannot control the narrative, they attempt to destroy the ability of others to independently and critically determine one?
Or is the epic event something larger? Something in the destiny for earth? Are they instinctively, intuitively, responding in fear and chaos to something unknown? Is their behavior a warning sign? Or do they just need correction? Both?
