Michigan Voter Rolls ~ Lawsuit Filed Tues., June 9, 2020

A conservative activist on Tuesday sued Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and 16 local clerks in federal court on claims they failed to accurately maintain the state’s voter rolls.

The findings indicate that voter rolls are inaccurate and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and other elections officials “are failing to make a reasonable effort” to keep the list up-to-date in accordance with the National Voter Registration Act, the suit contends. It seeks a preliminary injunction requiring the state to fix the alleged problem before the 2020 general election in November…

EXCLUSIVE: A voter filed a lawsuit Tuesday against Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, Bureau of Elections Director Jonathan Brater and other officials, claiming that in at least 16 counties voter rolls have not been properly maintained and that this leaves them vulnerable to fraud in November's election.

Tony Daunt, a Republican active in his state and county parties, alleges that the Michigan voter registration rates in these counties are “suspiciously high” because their voting records have not been cleaned out to remove ineligible voters, including those who have died, moved, or been convicted of felonies.
