Here’s a SWAG
Liberals are pushing for the WH/ Fed to implement a national policy of LE guidelines under a new agency possibly. This by de-fault could bring into existence a "National Police Force" in that ANY federal funding or grants for local dept. would make the subject agency subservient to the Federal Govt. directive in how or how not to handle daily operations of a LE dept. How many state or local LE depts. don't take or need federal money? None! This again by de-fault might create an Obama type "National Police Force" not in name but in policy of how it operates. LE accountability something the Governors and state legislators should be dealing with at a state and local level but it will never happen in that police/LE unions will push back hard if penalties are enacted holding LE to a higher standard, not to mention the Constitutional question of equal justice under the law while having stiffer penalties for LE individuals vs non-LE individuals for the same crime. As always the local municipalities, states and liberals are wanting POTUS to do their dirty work and then pass the buck to POTUS as being the both the boggy man and head of the new Gestapo if another George Floyd incident were to happen after any national plan were implemented ( "they " will make sure it happens). My advice …forces the states and counties to deal with this at their own level. POTUS knows this. To take it another step forward if a "National Police/LE Oversight Agency" over seeing local jurisdictions were created, the cost would be through the roof making the excuse to create a direct agency of "National LE": streamlining the process, removing local LE, concentrating power under the Feds, removing even more local accountability, making more Fed unionized workers, as the sales pitch to the sleeping sheeple of the nation as a way to cut cost and be effective. Give an inch they take a mile. We need to keep our LE depts accountable at the local level, to force accountability through DC as we are experiencing is near impossible. Why plant new seeds of overbearing Govt to create more rotten fruit for future generations via a Nationalized Police Force or a Federal LE Policy Agency.
Support local/state LE, demand transparency and accountability will follow.
