tl;dr- Muslims believe they are closer to alignment with the teachings of God, others have gone astray.

Muslims, who were mostly Christian before Mohammad, see their faith as a next step. People had fallen from the Grace of God and turned away.

Wealthy "1%-ers" (possibly the same sort of evil cabal we fight now) had come to dominate the Arabian peninsula and especially Mecca where many venerated biblical icons were kept. They were abusive to people and were not in alignment with Christian (or Jewish) teachings. Mohammad is visited by Gabriel and receives the Qu'ran.

He tries to bring the Jews in Medina along with him to fight and overthrow the evil power structure in Mecca. They scoff and most would not come along. This is the beginning of their division.

He brings his army of 10K, IIRC, and purges the evil ones. Recaptures Mecca from those infidels and the Kaaba (the black cube building) which is said to contain a meteorite that was part of an altar from Adam and Eve.

This is why QTeam keeps saying itsnot about religion. All these monotheistic faiths are praying to the same God, but have differences in structure, practice and tradition.
