Been seeing discussions about the Bible, which parts to read, etc. My MO to people who have never read the Bible, especially to the young, is to first read only the first sentence of John. That's it. Then go and read Proverbs from the beginning to the end.

That's having them start at too high a level. Remember, we're talking about people, including young people, who have never read the Book. When I get to talking to them about it, I say; Look, you know there is truth and everything else is bull shit.

 

If they read the first sentence of John, they find the God says exactly that. Then I say read Proverbs, say it's not even that much about God, it's wise men and their riddles. Will continue to believe that is the best start. Believe if they do that, then they will, on their own, become much more interested in reading more
