@POTUS is correct. Doomed to repeat history if we make haste to wipe it away. The question is, which history are we to remember, here? Slavery is wrong; period. Morally, the South was unable to continue standing behind the issue of self-governance when, at the core of that debate, was the issue of slavery.
The North declaring progressively higher taxation on the south over their trade agreements with European kings/queens was also wrong. A whole buncha shit happened, and in the end. 600K Americans died over something that could have been handled way more diplomatically. At least Lincoln was smart enough to listen to European diplomat and make slavery the core issue of the war for him. 2 years into it, we finally see legislation to justify the war.
Ugly history, indeed.
Of course, look at us now. One great big old happy family. Some of us are taking action being funded by a fucking Nazi. Some of us are political sell outs to C_I_A. Some are multiple ethnicities joining arms against the stupid. Some are keyboard warriors for both sides in the fight.
An exceptional few have a plan, and are working towards that plan's end despite the pleas of anons and shills alike to bring it to an end. You can get butt hurt over all this, or you can get patient, and rest in love of your fellow man/woman/child while working on your local community day in, and day out.
