Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham signaled today he plans on calling George Papadopoulos in to testify in the coming weeks.

Papadopoulos was the victim of the Obamagate spying scandal and was targeted by at least three Obama spies during the 2016 campaign and after Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton.

Senator Schumer announced this morning that Democrats would like George Papadopoulos and General Michael Flynn in to testify.

The Democrats are hoping to harass General Flynn some more.

George Papadopoulos is excited about the prospect of telling his story to the American public.

Seattle "Autonomous Zone" Now Has A "Heavily-Armed" Warlord; Governor Clueless

Seattle's new "autonomous zone" - a six-block area established by protesters after the police and National Guard pulled out of city's Capitol Hill neighborhood - now has a 'heavily-armed' warlord, and he's already enforcing his streets.

Soundcloud rapper Raz Simone and his entourage have claimed the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) as their territory - and have already been filmed regulating when a man wouldn't stop spraying graffiti over an urban art installation, telling him "We are the police of this community now!"

All isn't lost in the republic of CHAZ, however, as the group has apparently organized its own trash collection while hosting regular free speech circles, according to the New York Post.

Inhabitants of the “CHAZ” are calling for defunding the Seattle Police Department as well as other demands published in a 30-point list online.

“This is no simple request to end police brutality,” organizers wrote. “We demand that the City Council and the Mayor, whoever that may be, implement these policy changes for the cultural and historic advancement of the City of Seattle, and to ease the struggles of its people.”

They continue, “This document is to represent the black voices who spoke in victory at the top of 12th & Pine after 9 days of peaceful protest while under constant nightly attack from the Seattle Police Department.” -New York Post

Trump admin sanctions International Criminal Court officials investigating US war crimes

The Donald Trump administration is imposing economic sanctions on International Criminal Court officials who are engaged with “any effort” to investigate or prosecute US personnel for war crimes.

In a statement on Thursday, the White House press office said President Donald Trump has also authorized the “expansion of visa restrictions” against ICC officials and their family members.

The US has repeatedly threatened to impose sanctions on the Hague-based court and asserted that it has no right to investigate or prosecute US personnel without Washington’s consent.

The White House statement described the court’s actions as “an attack on the rights of the American people” and a threat to “infringe upon our national sovereignty.”

It added that the ICC was established “to provide accountability for war crimes” but said “in practice” it had become “unaccountable and ineffective.”

Efforts by the ICC to investigate allegations of war crimes by Israel against Palestinians have also drawn ire from the Trump administration.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo argued in May that Palestine does not “qualify as a sovereign state" and that the court cannot conduct "illegitimate" investigations against Israel. He threatened that the US would "exact consequences" if the court continued its efforts to investigate alleged crimes.

In the Thursday statement, the White House said the ICC was pursuing “politically-motivated investigations” against the US and its allies “including Israel.”

Without offering evidence, the statement said the US was concerned that “adversary nations are manipulating” the court by “encouraging” allegations against American personnel.

It claimed there is “strong reason to believe” that there is “corruption and misconduct” at the “highest levels” of the court which call its integrity into question.

Facebook Responds To Biden's "Demand" For Censorship

Just minutes after Democratic Party presidential candidate Joe Biden "demanded" that Facebook censor posts, the social media giant responded with what is a very strong statement of intent that will assuredly rile up the outrage mob.

Biden's campaign wrote in the New York Times no less to explain the former VP will be going on the offensive against Facebook:

“Real changes to Facebook’s policies for their platform and how they enforce them are necessary to protect against a repeat of the role that disinformation played in the 2016 election and that continues to threaten our democracy today,” said Bill Russo, a spokesman for the Biden campaign.

We live in a democracy, where the elected officials decide the rules around campaigns.

Two weeks ago the President of the United States issued an executive order directing Federal agencies to prevent social media sites from engaging in activities like fact-checking political statements.

This week, the Democratic candidate for President started a petition calling on us to do the exact opposite.

Just as they have done with broadcast networks - where the US government prohibits rejecting politicians’ campaign ads - the people’s elected representatives should set the rules, and we will follow them.

There is an election coming in November and we will protect political speech, even when we strongly disagree with it.

Ironically, as Biden raises his attacks on Zuckerberg et al., his campaign is increasingly turning to the site to reach voters with ads. In recent days, he spent $5 million in advertising on Facebook, surging past political ad spending by Mr. Trump, who has dominated Facebook throughout the campaign season.

“Biden is doing the right thing by pushing the platform to be more ethical and by not walking away from it, which is not realistic,” said Erik Smith, a former Democratic strategist and co-founder of Seven Letter, a crisis communications firm.

“But he’s running a race against an opponent who has a 10-mile start on Facebook.”

US consulate worker sentenced to 8yrs in jail in Turkey for helping ‘terrorist organization’ linked to 2016 failed coup

A US consulate employee has been found guilty of helping a group that Turkey says tried to topple the government four years ago. US-Turkey relations were already under strain over disputes including an arms deal with Russia.

Metin Topuz was sentenced to eight years and nine months in prison for “aiding an armed terrorist organization,” local media reported. He was found guilty of having links to a movement led by dissident Muslim cleric Fethullah Gulen, who the Turkish government accuses of masterminding a failed military coup in 2016. Topuz was accused of working with police officers and soldiers who had ties to Gulen's group.

Topuz worked as a translator and fixer for the US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) at the American consulate in Istanbul. During the trial, he claimed to have communicated with high-ranking police and legal officials as part of his job.

The US embassy in Ankara said it is “deeply disappointed” by the verdict and has seen “no credible evidence” to support the court’s decision, adding that the allegations against Topuz “misrepresent both the scope and nature of the important work undertaken by our local staff on behalf of the US government.”

Gulen, who denies any involved in the 2016 coup attempt, has been living in the US since 1999, and the US government has rejected multiple requests from Turkey for his extradition. American-Turkish relations have been strained in recent years by a series of disputes, notably Washington’s refusal to supply F-35 fighter jets to Turkey over the country’s purchase of S-400 air defense missile units from Russia.

India denies visa to US govt panel, says foreign entities have no authority to criticize nation’s religious freedoms

New Delhi has refused visas to members of a US government panel on religious freedoms, arguing they have no right to make judgments about India, as antipathy between the two nations seems to have reached new levels.

India has decided to ban the members of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) from visiting its territory after the American bipartisan government advisory body repeatedly slammed New Delhi over its alleged persecution of Muslims.

The Indian authorities reject the accusations, calling the panel’s approach “biased” and “prejudiced.” In a leaked June 1 letter from Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar to an MP, the minister maintained that New Delhi “does not see the locus standi” of a foreign entity such as the US panel, that would allow it to pass judgments on the state of Indians’ religious freedoms and “constitutionally protected rights.”

USCIRF has been known to make prejudiced, inaccurate and misleading observations regarding the state of religious freedom in India. We do not take cognisance of these pronouncements and have repudiated such attempts to misrepresent information related to India.

The news came as the USCIRF issued its 2019 Report on International Religious Freedom. Released by State Secretary Mike Pompeo on Wednesday, the report castigates India over its failure to stop mob attacks on religious minorities and for allowing various forms of discrimination, mostly citing data provided by various NGOs. It also highlights New Delhi’s decision to revoke the special status of the disputed Jammu and Kashmir state, as well as the passing of the controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB), which, it argues, is discriminatory towards Muslims.

The citizenship bill has become a particular stumbling block in relations between the two nations. Back in April, the USCIRF recommended including India on a list of nations of “particular concern” – something it already did in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009, and 2010. The Indian Foreign Ministry has struck back by saying it would consider the US panel “an organization of particular concern and will treat it accordingly.”

"Political BS!!" - NASCAR Driver Ray Ciccarelli To Quit Racing After Confederate Flag Ban

NASCAR driver Ray Ciccarelli posted on his Facebook page Wednesday that he will leave the sport at the end of the 2020 race season.

In the post, Ciccarelli disagreed with the direction NASCAR is headed, adding that kneeling during the National Anthem is disrespectful, nor should anyone be banned from flying whatever flag they chose.

Ciccarelli said he could care less about the Confederate flag, but said flying the flag doesn't necessarily make someone a racist. The post is now deleted, and he said racing in NASCAR was a dream come true:

"Well its been a fun ride and dream come true but if this is the direction Nascar is headed we will not participate after 2020 season is over , i don't believe in kneeling during Anthem nor taken ppl right to fly what ever flag they love. NASCAR banned the flag after the first full-time Black NASCAR driver in 25 years, Darrel "Bubba" Wallace, called on the organization to address to ban the flag which serves as a reminder of the days when southern Democrats owned slaves.

Trump’s Tulsa rally a ‘welcome-home party’ for white supremacists, declares Kamala Harris

Senator Kamala Harris (D-California) is openly calling an upcoming Donald Trump campaign event a “welcome home party” for white supremacists, amid volatile protests over the death of George Floyd and police brutality.

“This isn't just a wink to white supremacists—he's throwing them a welcome home party,” Harris tweeted on Thursday, in response to news of Trump’s rally.

The campaign event has come under scrutiny from liberal pundits as it will occur on Juneteenth Day – the 19th – when many Americans celebrate the end of slavery, as well as the fact that it will take place in Tulsa, Oklahoma, scene of a 1921 massacre of black citizens that left dozens dead.

Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale revealed on Thursday that they are fully aware of the date and its significance.

“As the Party of Lincoln, Republicans are proud of what Juneteenth represents and the Emancipation Proclamation. @realDonaldTrump has a solid record of success for Black Americans,” he tweeted before taking a swipe at Joe Biden.

Media pundits like veteran reporter Dan Rather have also gone after the president for choosing the date for a campaign rally.

Harris is currently campaigning for Biden and has been floated as a possible vice presidential pick for the Democrat Party, despite clashing with the former vice president several times over race issues on the campaign trail while she was running.

The “white supremacist” comments come at a time when racial unrest can be seen in protests across the country over the death of George Floyd. Demonstrations have devolved into violence as activists call to defund police departments and create “autonomous zones,” free from the rule of law, in cities like Seattle.

Trump and members of his administration faced criticism after walking from the White House to St. John's Church to pose for a photo. Controversy erupted when, prior to the president's appearance, law enforcement used crowd-dispersing tactics to clear out protesters.

In a video for the National Defense University's commencement ceremony, Milley said, "As senior leaders, everything you do will be closely watched. And I am not immune. As many of you saw, the result of the photograph of me at Lafayette Square last week. That sparked a national debate about the role of the military in civil society.

"I should not have been there. My presence in that moment and in that environment created a perception of the military involved in domestic politics," he continued.

Amid protests, Trump appeared in front of the church with Milley as well as Defense Secretary Mark Esper.

"As a commissioned, uniformed officer, it was a mistake that I have learned from," Milley admitted. "And I sincerely hope we can all learn from it."

Milley added, "We who wear the cloth of our nation come from the people of our nation. And we must hold dear the principles of an apolitical military that is so deeply rooted in the very essence of our Republic."

According to the New York Times, the senior military member also spoke out against the police-involved death of George Floyd.

"I am outraged by the senseless and brutal killing of George Floyd," he said. "His death amplified the pain, the frustration, and the fear that so many of our fellow Americans live with day in [and] day out. The protests that have ensued not only speak to his killing, but also to the centuries of injustice toward African Americans. We should all be proud that the vast majority of protests have been peaceful."

‘This generation would rather be angry than laugh’: Popular UK show ‘The InBetweeners’ removed from YouTube

The channel for the popular British sitcom ‘The InBetweeners’ has been removed from YouTube, sparking widespread outrage that it was taken down for its offensive humor, but all may not be as it seems.

The wildly popular show, which first aired in May 2008, spawned two feature films, two books, a US remake and a reunion special, hosted by comedian Jimmy Carr. It follows the adventures of four friends struggling through their awkward teen years.

What many had believed to be the show's official YouTube channel, started in 2014, eventually amassing 222,000 subscribers, displayed the message, “This channel doesn't have any content,” on Thursday morning, before disappearing altogether.

The show's apparent removal from the video platform prompted ‘#TheInBetweeners’ to trend on Twitter, with many decrying “this generation” as “snowflakes” who can’t handle the edgier side of comedy.

“Are we so pathetic and soft that we can’t even handle The Inbetweeners?” added another Twitter user.

Some suggested the move was simply a mechanism to force fans of the show to sign up for the BritBox service, which hosts many British sitcoms and soaps, but has recently been in the headlines for its own alleged censorship of comedy.

For now at least, it appears fans of the show will have to put away their pitchforks and watch the sitcom the old fashioned way.

Greece: Illegal migrants destroy olive grove, more going to Germany

Another olive grove on the Greek island of Lesvos was destroyed by illegal migrants recently. Germany also announced yesterday that they will be taking more migrants from the Greek islands.

The olive grove that was burned down was near the Moira migrant camp, the largest one on the island. It had only been planted a few years ago. “What can agriculture and livestock offer you now?” said Makis Pavlellis, a local resident who has been photographing the many incidents of wanton destruction perpetrated by migrants, according to a report by Greek City Times. “See your interest, rent your fields to NGOs.”

Illegal migrants have already chopped down thousands of olive trees on the island, as previously reported by Voice of Europe. There have also been many instances of churches being vandalised and desecrated by the mostly Muslim criminals, as well as attacks on the police and locals.

The Greek islands in the Aegean Sea have been on the front lines of the migrant crisis from the beginning, and the official number of illegal migrants currently being hosted there is upwards of 40,000. Approximately half of those are living on the island of Lesvos. The locals were initially welcoming, but many are now tired of the migrants given their destructive impact on the island.

Most migrants in the Aegean camps are Afghan (49%), followed by Syrians (19%) and Somalis (6%). 45% of them are adult men, 22% are women, and 33% are children.

Meanwhile, Germany’s Minister of the Interior, Horst Seehofer, announced yesterday that his country will take an additional 249 migrants from the Greek islands, according to another report by Greek City Times. This is in addition to the 47 the country already accepted in April.

The move is intended to relieve overcrowding in the migrant camps, which are seen as being at high risk of a Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak given their conditions, which restrict migrants’ ability to practice social distancing measures. Several European Union member states have agreed to take migrants from Greece in recent months to support the measure.

Seehofer indicated that most of the migrants they would be taking in are either ill or are young children. Similar claims were made about the migrants who were accepted in April, however, despite the fact that photographs and video of them as they were arriving showed that this was not in fact the case, as previously reported by Voice of Europe.
