We're seeing a lot of action by POTUS, Xi, and Putin to increase Arctic resources this year, especially in terms of investing in ships that can cut lanes through the ice. Does Greenland factor into this rush to acquire such ships? Not much explanation is being given...

Just spitballing here, but if naval blockades of key shipping passages like the Panama Canal, South China Sea, Strait of Hormuz, Strait of Malacca, etc. appear, it might be really crucial to have Arctic alternatives.

Anons have any other ideas on why the rush to cut new lanes through the Arctic ice?
