re determining whether pastebins are being deleted by pastebin
Relates to the discussion from yesterday morning; appeared that pastebins might be 'disappearing' because captchas were not being completed before a certain time period, I've never had this problem so don't really have a handle on it. But for some reason, pastes do seem to be missing. If not deleted by the baker, then some other party - like pastebin.com (possibly, we really do not know at this point).
ANONS
Just so you know, bakers have been having problems with pastebin.com for 2 months. Something's going on there.
PRO users pay to make sure that their pastebins are permanent.
PRO accounts also don't require captchas.
Or didn't.
But in early April, they did (for /qr/ pastes).
Why?
Turned it it was bc they include the word 'trump[ing]'.
Censorship?
Later, even deleting that word did not stop the problem
Wrote pastebin.com objecting to this change twice - second time angrily. No response.
This seeming disappearance of pastebins may be a further escalation.
Did check out #12257 pastebin - it's definitely gone. But don't know whether that account was Guest or PRO.
Did a dig into alternatives and none i found is as suitable for our purposes as pastebin; some have small screeens, some are flaky, some lack the range of functions. Difficult problem. If anons know of high-quality alternatives, bakers are interested. Must be ROBUST and must use full display.
