Because Christ challenged the "authorities"
1) those who controlled the temple (Pharisees),
2) those who wrote and interpreted the law (scribes), and
3) those who robbed (money changers) and oppressed the people economically?
Christ was born an outlaw, spoke the Truth, and was sentenced to death for insurrection. His teachings emphasized kindness, good works, voluntary association, seeking the Truth, and the use of one's own free will to reject not only sinful temptations, but also conscription by the "authorities" to harm others.
