Called it too. The Northern states had enslaved the Southerners horribly with tariffs which crippled the South. It was a boil that needed to be lanced when the Constitution was ratified. "3/5ths for both." Dred Scott was a legal decision, not a moral one.

Interesting video at YT of some 100 year old Civil War vet about 15 minutes long said the same thing, basically, over the slavery issue.
