The whole "Y-head" thing has bothered me.

The connection to both cuckolding and the evil eye. Same hand gesture. But, it doesn't make sense to act like the cuckold has horns if they are not a member of this ruling group.

It does, however, make sense in both cases if it is a warning. A warning by people who all know what the "Y-heads" are and how they act.

If you saw one coming, would you yell out to your friends? No. You would try to signal to them quietly. If it was a wedding, you would try to flash the horns at the groom, or whoever was around, to try to get the bride the hell out of there before it happened. You would try to signal to other people to get away from a "y-head" whenever you saw one.

It would be like flashing your headlights to warn people about a speed trap.
