Re states can charge illegals for identity theft: It is actually much better than that. While many of these millions do actually steal an unknowing party's information, this SC ruling actually says, "The SCOTUS issued a major 5-4 decision that illegal immigrants who use someone else’s information when filling out tax forms for employment can face criminal charges." A lot of those "folks" are using information that was provided to them by the network. The key is that it involves "tax documents." So it is much more than Jose stealing Joe's identity and raiding his bank account. This drives right into the core of how an illegal conceals himself/herself in the US, making it a felony. A wonderful day in the history of America.
