I think, though, Obama could have sealed the deal when he aired his message last week if he had asked for calm and was given the credit for quelling the riots. He did the exact opposite of that.

Looks to me more like the Obamas want the riots to continue to the convention and election. Mike will have to campaign around that and his/her history in such issues isn't helpful.
