Trying to plan out a new Desktop. I have never built one before, I have never had a quality PC before. I have almost always used Laptops.

I have the money, so I want to actually get a GOOD PC.

I will be using it for a few games like Skyrim & ESO. But I really want a PC that I can scan Satellite pics with great detail. As of now, looking at google Earth or whatever I'm using atm, my laptop acts like it wants to explode. I also do many things at once with tabs open. I want to continue doing that without thinking everything is about to spontaneously combust

My question: WHAT IS BETTER,

Ryzen 7 3700X or

INTEL i7?

I can't decide what is a better pick. Don't get me started on video cards. There are so many it's mind boggling

Yes, I have been, but I still can't figure out if I should get the R7 or i7. That seems to be the main choice I have to make in order to pick out everything else.

I know all that. I just can't get a straight answer about which to get R7 or i7. I want to make that decision 1st before I pick everything else.

But from the video that an anon posted in here for me & going from there, I think I'm gonna go with the R7.

I like asking in here about things I can't decide on. Most anons are pretty smart of this stuff.

My plan was on spending at least 300 on a graphics card.

GeForce GTX 1660 Ti

or

GeForce RTX 2060

Something like that.

I would rather over do it than under do it.

I agree with the rest of what you said
