Liberals Still Think Obama Was the 'Best President Ever,' Here Are 14 Reasons Why That's Ridiculous

Are mass delusions possible? I didn’t use to think so, but every now and then I’m reminded of the fact that there are thousands of people who think Barack Obama wasn’t just a good president, but a great president, who magically fixed the economy and went two full terms without a single scandal. On Sunday, countless liberals took to Twitter, declaring #ObamaDayJune14th, that it’s #ObamaAppreciationDay and that Obama was #BestPresidentEver.

Why? Because June 14 is President Trump’s birthday! How clever! And these trending hashtags accompanied thousands of unironic tweets expressing nostalgia for the Obama years and appreciation for Obama, their lord and savior. What exactly are they nostalgic for? Beats me. Here are 14 reasons that the left’s nostalgia is ridiculous.

  1. There was unprecedented corruption

By my count, there were at least 30 significant Obama administration scandals. That has to be a record, doesn’t it? I mean, Nixon had Watergate, Clinton had Whitewater, Monica Lewinsky, and a slew of other alleged affairs. Donald Trump has a tan line and sometimes more ice cream than other people. But 30+ scandals under Obama eclipses those. From trying to sell his Senate seat to using government agencies to target his political enemies, to giving ransom money to a terror state, to even spying on the opponent of his heir apparent to the White House, Obama turned corruption into an art form. Perhaps this should have been expected, given his Chicago roots, but really, the magnitude of his corruption was certainly underestimated by most of us, and remains totally ignored by the left, which insists his term was scandal-free.

  1. Student loan debt skyrocketed

  1. Gas prices were ridiculously high

  1. Health care costs skyrocketed

  1. There was record poverty on his watch

  1. He literally spied on the media

  1. He literally spied on millions of Americans

  1. He started an illegal war in Libya

  1. He gave guns to drug cartels

  1. He fired an inspector general to protect a sex predator

  1. He obstructed justice like it was his job

Obstruction of justice was the standard operating procedure in the Obama administration from day one. But the clearest evidence of systemic construction came in August 2014, when 47 of 73 inspectors general wrote an open letter to Congress informing them that the Obama administration obstructed investigations by not giving them full access to the information they need to investigate properly. Such a letter was unprecedented, and the systemic corruption and obstruction of the inspectors general would have been considered an impeachable defense for almost any other president.

Obama didn’t just appoint attorneys general to lead the Justice Department, he appointed protectors to keep himself from being held accountable for corruption. The lack of outrage (thanks to lack of media attention to the scandal) emboldened the Obama administration to impose new restrictions on the investigative powers of inspectors general. Can you imagine President Trump trying to get away with that today?

  1. Hundreds of thousands of veterans died because of him

  1. He presided over the worst economic recovery since the Great Depression

  1. Unprecedented abuse of power

…And then there’s that whole spying on Trump thing.

There is no doubt that the Obama administration spied on the Trump campaign and justified that spying with a bogus dossier funded by the Hillary campaign. What began as a means to undermine Trump before the 2016 Election ultimately became a means to undermine his presidency. The Mueller investigation, a 22-month effort to uncover alleged Russian collusion, predictably turned up nothing.

There’s also an ongoing Inspector General investigation of the alleged abuse of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act by the DOJ and FBI, and Attorney General Barr says that some well-known people are likely going to be held accountable for what happened.

CHAZ/CHOP Creates Conflict Resolution Council, and the Rules Are SPECTACULAR

How long until CHAZ or CHOP or whatever it is jumps the shark? Faster than a speeding uptwinkle! More powerful than a communal drum circle! Able to leap tall police horses in a single bound! It’s a bird … it’s a plane … it’s the CHAZ Conflict Resolution Council! Chief Seattle weeps.

NOTE: It remains unclear at the time of this writing whether this is real or just an expertly executed troll job. It’s sort of like the Babylon Bee, if it is a troll job. It’s impossible to tell. Real or not, it’s glorious.

A post appeared on Reddit yesterday that lays out the new Conflict Resolution Council at the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) in Seattle, where anarchists and antifa types have blocked off an area of city streets for … well .. the purpose remains unclear. But the mayor thinks it’s the Summer of Love, and City Council allowed them to take over the police precinct building, so they must have some purpose. It’s a leaderless movement, of course, but nonetheless a purpose does exist. Allegedly.

A post-capitalistic utopia has sprung up that some call a block party, while others think it more resembles a war zone. In this Summer of Love utopia, apparently conflicts have arisen. Is there a “warlord,” or is he simply a fellow traveler who wants the best for humanity?

Luckily, one of the folks living in the street commune took to Reddit to provide us the answers.

Except that conflicts have still continued, which means that a Conflict Resolution Council sprung up. Mind you, this is no hierarchical structure (the leaderless leaders oppose those).

Some of the comments led the Redditor, moeys91, to add some edits to the Council explanation. These are gold, folks:

Edit 1: After receiving feedback about inclusiveness we shall include in the council one Black man, one Black woman, one trans Black person, one non-binary Black person, and one white woman (5 4 people).

Edit 2: On more feedback we will add to the Council 1 Asian non-male, 1 Native American non-male, and 1 Latinx non-male, and then 4 additional Black men and women to balance it out. In total there are 3 + 4 + 4 = 11 members.

Edit 3: We’ve received some feedback about including disabledpersons (mental and physical) and homelesspersons on the Council. 20% or 40% of the Council should be persons with lived experience of disability. At least 10% should be experiencing involuntary homelessness.

Edit 4: We realize LGBTQIA communities are being under-represented in the Council so far and are working on proposals to rectify this. The final composition of the balanced Council will likely include 10-50% people who identify as LGBTQIA.

Edit 5: We have agreed to add 3 more seats, two of which are to give a voice to the disadvantaged LGBTQIA community, and one to give children equal representation and fairness. The new seats include one for a LGBTQI-identifying Black disabledperson, one for a LGBTQI-identifying Black homelessperson, and one for a non-white or mixed race child between the ages of 8 and 15.

These edits perfectly illustrate how tied up in knots these people get when they try to fill out their intersectionality bingo cards. That they feel it vital to include a child should give the reader a window into the collective psyche that made Greta Thunberg a worldwide phenomenon.

But wait, the further edits get EVEN BETTER.
