I can confirm the eastern training area is a tad busy for a monday morning….
If you can put yourself in a fast jet pilots shoes. On a sortie doing 7 miles a minuite you find that places are alot closer than you may think and when were calling out on stud ( control) we only give a bearing an distance to a known land based position, FWIW…

Its not that spoopy anon, its actually quite simple the US were doing tanking operations in the eastern training area to practice for the upcoming ACM wargames that start in a week or so around that area. ( we got the notams this morning )
My hunch is that something went wrong during the tanking op an the pilot chose to drop it in the sea for whatever reason, that being said all non SAR aircraft would be RTB and its likley the 4x KC 135' s would be the core search team until support could arrive…
Its an AWACS it is airborne ATC amoungst other things its been up all morning it would have been coordinating the tanker ops..
