Wife anon is a Vet Tech, surgery dept. at the largest emergency hospital in our city. Protocols were put in place over two months ago and yes, they are brutal. Gown, gloves, masks required outside (over 100 degrees for over 3 weeks now and getting hotter). Has to take and record her own temp upon arrival to work and at departure. Lifting 70 lb. animals all day has taken a toll. All employees required to wear masks, no exceptions. No clients in the building, no exceptions. Already advised, will be required to take vaccine when it becomes available. Wife anon been there 23 years, will most likely lose her job and most likely won't get hired anywhere else due to age and salary requirements. They are extremely short staffed as several techs and doctors have quit. Working 14 hour days. Thankful she is still working, but….

It's all about political correctness. Last week, a tech informed staff her cousin was diagnosed with C19 and she had seen him the week before. Staff in process of determining any and all employee's she worked with between the week she saw the cousin and the date of diagnosis. Wife anon does not work with this tech, but scuttlebutt is many will be sent home for 14 days. Short staffed already, who knows what will happen if they do this. Wait and see at this point.

Thank you, but we are fine, really. Our lives haven't been affected much at all, just my better half. Approaching 60 and the current physical demands are again taking a toll. She will not take a vaccine, she knows. Will be hard to stay in the field she loves and is dedicated too. Ironically, the past two months has been extremely busy. One day, the hospital brought in over 40k, the most single day in more than 30 years. She muses at people no even blinking an eye when they get a surgery estimate of 8k, just do it people say.
