The CDC/WHO have flip-flopped a dozen times on whether or not CV can live on non-porous surfaces. The Walgreens' cashier standing behind a 2' wide magic piece of plastic isn't going to do shit in the grand scheme of things.
If coronavirus caused the infected's heads to explode like a watermelon at a Gallagher show, then all this shielding from splash damage would make sense. As it stands, it's just more fearporn.
