I've really, really been picking up on this the last year and it makes me HATE the English language. I know enough French to recognize it seems to be a Rome/row-m/roam ants/an-see language thing, generally. I feel like every friggen expression works against us.
Yes, screaming fuck at something you hate/do not want is literally joining you strongly to it! The opposite of what you want! (i think) The apostrophe seems to be diabolical as well. CAPITAL letters… homophones/homonyms of all manner/manor, gazillion things cause us to err/hair/air/heir/ER too. Words are wards and worship wars ships. Christians all my life talking about the coming great/grate deception and not being able to "bur or sell." I think it's been here the whole/hole time and we're currently grately D-sieved and NOT bi-ing ore celling like we think we are. I go thru every day now analyzing how words relate, why they are what they are, what letters mean and how they form/combine to create words… and it gets… upsetting. "scratching the surface"… the clues are everywhere… scratch is an etch is an 'h' is a score, is a football (H) goal post, h is a chair is an ai-etch-air, etc… Seems whatever original phoenetic sounds man made to associate with certain actions have carried on down the line, have been incorporated into longer convoluted 'compound' words that we use all the time to express thing we THINK we're saying, and are saying something quite different altogether.
