It amuses me that the same people who love to claim every POTUS is a puppet then want to turn around and assign blame for something to a puppet as if its master didn't exist.
Here are questions that need be asked… Who was talking to Bush? Who in his councils fomented these decisions that would develop ISIS?
Who FUNDED ISIS? Even in these articles, the "did Bush create ISIS" is the typical 'ISIS is a home grown bunch of freedom fighters' rhetoric, which is absurd. Not to say that ISIS doesn't enjoy a recruitment bonus because of anti-western views - but the entire existence of ISIS was reliant on black budgets we now understand to be fully autonomous from POTUS' authority.
While I will criticize Bush's plans as being flawed or fundamentally sabotaged in their architecture… They were not plans designed to support ISIS. Bush Jr. did not blatantly sabotage the military.
I think the Bush Jr. Presidency was far more complex than many people give it credit for. Bush wasn't President Trump… But he was a far cry from what Hanoi Lurch or ManBearPig would have been.
Perhaps I am horribly wrong - but I don't think "Bush created ISIS" - people in place before Bush and who were foisted on his administration made sure ISIS would be the end product of any presidential administration.
