The overarching issue that you’ve mentioned is related to the ongoing war between cryptographers on either side of the military divide, the shell games to promulgate ostensible realities about the strength of strong encryption, and how that relates to the factions of wealthy and powerful that leverage such knowledge for the fight for or against hegemony.
