I’ve lost two of my brothers to gun fire and one who was run over by a drunk driver so far in my career.

While I’ve had suspects detained AND in handcuffs, I’ve been:

Bit

Spit on

Pooped on

Peed on

Head butted

Kicked

Elbowed

Shoved

and threatened with death of myself and my family.

In my county, detained suspects under the influence of alcohol or drugs must be medically cleared at the hospital prior to being taken to jail.

Suspects also attempt to assault hospital staff during this time period.

It ain’t easy being blue.

That’s the job, I’m not asking for your help, sympathy or support.
