Another article about the fireworks, confirming much of that 4chan thread.

>"Thereโ€™s something louder, longer, and crazier about it thatโ€™s weird," said Phoebe Streblow, a Flatbush resident. "Just the sheer cost alone of these productions is suspect. They're about the size of fireworks at a minor league ballpark."

It's certainly having that effect.

>In my own block in Hyde Park, itโ€™s been nonstop every night for the past few weeks. Every time I hear them, I think it might be gunshots. Sometimes the bombardment starts as early as 5 p.m. (One has to wonder โ€” whatโ€™s the point of lighting up fireworks in broad daylight?)

The fireworks are interfering with gunshot sensors, too.

>The fireworks are interfering with the cityโ€™s audio ShotSpotter system that detects the sound of gunfire and officers will race to a street concerned about a shooting only to find out it was a firecracker.

The fireworks are all over the place. From my shallow dig on this one, I see that they're depriving people of sleep, tying up law enforcement and setting off gunshot sensors, and desensitizing people to the sound of gunfire. Did you see the 4chan thread about the fireworks? This is definitely some kind of operation. I have a bad feeling about it.
