i dont believe there ever was an official offer of immunity anon.
because anon, the person you got strep from may have been taking anti biotics, and the person they got it from, and the person they got it from, etc. so by the time you get the infection, the bacteria has been evolving to combat the antibiotics and the strain you get may be able to defeat those antibiotics by the time you get it. thats how it works. its not like one person uses anti biotics once against an infection and then its all of a sudden prescription resistant.
