MMMMmmmm copy pasta:

As the sun rises over Syria, the results of the overnight attack on the military base near Homs are becoming clear. According to figures provided by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, 14 people have died so far, among whom (say Israeli media) several Iranian soldiers stationed at the base.

The T-4 Airfield near Homs, close to Palmyra in central Syria, was the target of several missiles, although it still remains unclear who is the attacker.

Although Syrian media at first blamed the US for the attack, that reference was dropped in later reporting.

Chatter on social media already claims that the Russian military in the region are ‘furious’ over the aggression.

The Kremlin had yesterday already warned the U.S. against any “military intervention” in Syria over the government of Bashar al-Assad (Russia’s ally in the region)'s alleged chemical attack against civilians this weekend on which we reported (see our related coverage).

The Kremlin had clearly stated that any response to this would be “unacceptable” and lead to the “most serious consequences”.

The Russian foreign Ministry released a statement claiming: “The news of the use of chemical weapons in Douma came at a time when the Syrian army continues its combat operations in eastern Ghouta in order to liberate its population from insurgents and terrorists.”

Meanwhile the Israeli press admits that retired General Mr Amos Yadlin, the former head of IDF Intelligence and currently the director of the Institute for National Security Studies, had stated yesterday that the IDF forces should consider ‘grounding’ the Syrian helicopters used in the chemical attack, with more and more fingers now pointing to Isreal as the culprit for the attack on the Syrian airbase.
