Butler County GOP legislator Daryl Metcalfe on Tuesday introduced a resolution to impeach Gov. Tom Wolf over his response to the Covid-19 global pandemic.
House Resolution 915, sponsored by Metcalfe and with 23 other GOP legislators as cosponsors, had brought up in May the idea of impeaching Wolf. Now, a month later, Metcalfe released five articles of impeachment against Wolf and his alleged "misbehavior in office" around Wolf's disaster declaration, the mandated closure of all non-life-sustaining businesses, the state's response to Covid-19 at nursing homes and long-term care facilities, and issues over right-to-know law requests from state agencies during the crisis.
Among the House Republicans in the General Assembly who signed on to cosponsor Metcalfe's May resolution were Rep. R. Lee James, R-Seneca; Rep. Aaron Bernstine, R-Ellwood City; Rep. Bud Cook, R-Belle Vernon; Rep. Eric Devanzo, R-Mt. Pleasant; Rep. Marci Mustello, R-Butler; and Rep. Jeffrey Pyle, R-Sarver.
