Dr. Anthony Fauci: Baseball Shouldn’t Play Past September

There probably will not be a Major League Baseball season this year. Though, if there is, Dr. Anthony Fauci says it shouldn’t extend past September.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, the head of the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Disease said that the baseball season would need to end before the second wave of the coronavirus hits.

“If the question is time, I would try to keep it in the core summer months and end it not with the way we play the World Series, until the end of October when it’s cold,” Fauci told the Times. “I would avoid that.”

The league has been consistent in its insistence that the regular season end Sept. 27, citing health concerns, as well as the desire of national TV partners not to have games extend into November. The union’s most recent proposal of 89 games would have had the regular season end in mid-October.

Coronavirus cases have been on the rise even in warmer areas of the country as some states begin to open up. But Fauci said that if baseball is going to be played, it should be done mostly in the summer.

“The likelihood is that, if you stick to the core summer months, you are better off, even though there is no guarantee. … If you look at the kinds of things that could happen, there’s no guarantee of anything. You would want to do it at a time when there isn’t the overlap between influenza and the possibility of a fall second wave.”

If MLB were to comply with Fauci’s recommendation, even if MLB and the Players Association could strike a deal, the season would likely consist of far less than 50 games. Maybe even less than forty. On Monday, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred expressed doubt about the prospects of a season happening at all.

Hans von Spakovsky: Religious Schools Will Be Targeted by Lawfare After SCOTUS LGBT Ruling

The Supreme Court’s reinterpretation of the Civil Rights Act’s prohibition against employment discrimination on the basis of sex — to now include sexual orientation and “gender identity” — will lead to lawsuits targeting religious and parochial schools for the hiring practices, warned Hans von Spakovsky, manager of the Heritage Foundation’s Election Law Reform Initiative and a senior legal fellow of the Meese Center for Legal and Judicial Studies.

Von Spakovsky discussed several of the Supreme Court’s recent rulings on Tuesday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow.

The Supreme Court redefined “sex” in the context of a prohibited basis of employment discrimination, making it unlawful to make personnel decisions wholly or partly based on a person’s sexual orientation or “gender identity.”

“It does feel like one or two people testing this [ruling] out could really make a huge headache that could be crippling for businesses,” said Marlow. “I think that’s what we’re gonna see. What do you think?”

Von Spakovsky predicted the orchestration of scenarios by political organizations within which lawsuits could be filed against religious and parochial schools to compel compliance with the Supreme Court’s decision.

“I think one of the first big targets will be religious and parochial schools all over the country,” von Spakovsky forecasted. “I think the organizations that file these kinds of lawsuits will come up with test cases, or they’ll ask people to apply for jobs as teachers at parochial schools where they are supposed to impart religious faith and religious values of that particular religion — whatever religion runs those schools — to those students.”

Von Spakovky added, “I think they will have people, for example, who are transsexual apply for those jobs, and when the churches refuse to hire them, they’re going to sue and say, ‘You’re violating the Civil Rights Act of 1964.’ The churches will be put in the position of having to defend themselves and say they should — because of their religious beliefs and First Amendment rights — have an exemption to it, but will that happen? We don’t know.”

What’s more, while Cuomo and the hideous Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) order the police to stand idle as domestic terrorists loot and burn predominantly black neighborhoods, they simultaneously order the police to arrest, ticket, and roust people for going to church, to school, to a restaurant or playground.

In a sane country, in a sane state, in a sane Democrat Party, you would never allow terrorists to violate every one of your social distancing orders while you penalize everyone else for doing the same. This cancerous double standard is not only an act of government persecution, it is a state enacting another form of Jim Crow — something Democrats are very familiar with, for it was Democrats who created the Jim Crow south.

My dear fellow Americans. Actor Kevin Bacon recently said on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon that “it’s a good time for old white guys like me to just shut up and listen.” While I understand his sentiment, I, for one, will not be quiet.

You see, Kevin, a lot of ole white guys like myself, clawed and struggled for where we are in life. If you mean Kevin, white guys that were given a huge leg up in life by having a father who was a major figure in Architecture — the great Edmund Bacon — or a mother who was a liberal activist, then I understand. You see, Kevin, many were not born with the white privilege you grew up with. And I for one wish to speak out.

Your call to muzzle ole white guys does a huge disservice to our nation during a time of perilous but exciting change. Many like myself grew up with a parent working three or four jobs to give us a chance at a better life. Many like myself grew up being the first in our family to attend college.

The pomposity I see among so many of the privileged Hollywood community, where many make in a week what takes others five lifetimes, is nauseating. It seems almost a desperate attempt to make sure they are perceived as part of this movement that is using the emotions of our youth to topple the nation. Do you really believe that all the young people in America know the truth, Kevin? While many are well-meaning, they are being used Kevin and they still need guidance.

I see too many people being sucked into a leftist vortex that has been orchestrated by powerful forces that wish harm to the country that has given us so much. You see, Kevin, I will speak out for better ways law enforcement can engage with people. I will speak out about how America’s youth has been indoctrinated by a corrupt culture and education system that has neglected to teach the true greatness of America but instead peddles Marxist cultural propaganda.

I have six children, much like your mom and dad, Kevin, and I have seen in several decades the chipping away at the values that made this country great. I, for one Kevin, will speak out against the dangers from the lack of assimilation we see from far too many in our immigrant population today. I will speak out about Ilan Omar, who has spit on this nation while being a member of Congress, who swore to protect and defend the nation she adopts as her own.

I will speak out against the Left’s attack on people of faith — where it seems mass protests are acceptable, but those who wish to worship are criminalized. I will speak out against those who punish all who dare to think differently. I will speak truth to those denigrating our flag and not standing for our national anthem.

I will speak out Kevin against the globalist cabal that will not free humanity but enslave it. I will speak out about the Democratic Party, a political party that has ruined every city they are in power in. This destruction has occurred while all you bleeding hearts in Hollywood continue to bump fists over how great the party is. I will speak out against that hypocrisy, Kevin.

What if all of Hollywood gave up their wealth and became a member of the proletariat? What if you and your lovely wife said, “I am not worth more than a teacher’s salary or say a Starbucks barista. I mean, they provide daily joy, don’t they?”

I will speak out against the killing of every George Floyd. I will speak out against the canceling of culture and American history, which, if taken to its full extreme, would have more far-reaching consequences than you ever imagined.
