Kente cloth worn by Democrats originated with African leaders who sold their people as slaves

 

Kente cloths donned recently by Congressional Democrats in what seemed to be a show of solidarity with African-Americans originated with an African slave-trading empire, fact checkers have noted.

 

Following the Democrats wearing the colorful cloths across their shoulders and kneeling in the U.S. Capitol building on June 8, Facebook user Dave Brandon posted this statement on the social media platform:

 

"Yesterday the Democrats wore kente scarfs and knelt down for their photo op. So check this out, Kente cloth was worn by the Ashanti. It's made of silk so the affluent wore it. The Ashanti were also known as slave owners and traders. Huh? … This makes me wonder why they chose to wear this particular tribe's garb."

 

USA Today fact checked the claim, and determined it to be accurate. The media outlet published an article Tuesday explaining its findings about Kente cloth. The article reads, in part:

Facebook will now allow users to turn off political ads

 

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on Tuesday that the social media platform would now allow users to turn off political ads.

 

"Everyone wants to see politicians held accountable for what they say — and I know many people want us to moderate and remove more of their content," Zuckerberg wrote in a USA Today op-ed article. "For those of you who've already made up your minds and just want the election to be over, we hear you — so we're also introducing the ability to turn off seeing political ads."

 

The feature allows users to turn off ads about political, social, and electoral issues from political candidates, super PACS, and other political organizations.

 

The platform will roll out the feature for some users starting Wednesday and says it should be available to all users over the next several weeks.

 

Facebook will still remind users to vote, Zuckerberg added.

Do Deep State Elements Operate Within the Protest Movement?

 

“Revolutions are often seen as spontaneous. It looks like people just went into the street. But it’s the result of months or years of preparation. It is very boring until you reach a certain point, where you can organize mass demonstrations or strikes. If it is carefully planned, by the time they start, everything is over in a matter of weeks.” Foreign Policy Journal

 

Does anyone believe the nationwide riots and looting are a spontaneous reaction to the killing of George Floyd?

 

It’s all too coordinated, too widespread, and too much in-sync with the media narrative that applauds the “mainly peaceful protests” while ignoring the vast destruction to cities across the country. What’s that all about? Do the instigators of these demonstrations want to see our cities reduced to urban wastelands where street gangs and Antifa thugs impose their own harsh justice? That’s where this is headed, isn’t it?

 

Of course there are millions of protesters who honestly believe they’re fighting racial injustice and police brutality. And more power to them. But that certainly doesn’t mean there aren’t hidden agendas driving these outbursts. Quite the contrary. It seems to me that the protest movement is actually the perfect vehicle for affecting dramatic social changes that only serve the interests of elites. For example, who benefits from defunding the police? Not African Americans, that’s for sure. Black neighborhoods need more security not less. And yet, the New York Times lead editorial on Saturday proudly announces, “Yes, We Mean Literally Abolish the Police–Because reform won’t happen.” Check it out:
