Guy shot with skateboard was 39, Shooter was 31, had run for Albuquerque City Council in 2019 as a Republican. Shooter's father was a County Sheriff's Deputy. Shooter was not part of New Mexico Civil Guard militia.

Mayor of ABQ and Gov of NM are both Democrats.
