Dear Police Chief,

I am writing today to thank you and your officers for the courageous career they have chosen and for protecting our community.

I watched the videos in the mainstream and social media. I am very saddened by the political fallout.

If by some odd turn of events, I end up a convicted felon, trying to defraud one of the merchants of our community, so high on drugs that I resist arrest and the officer(s) feel their safety is at stake, your officer(s) have my permission to force me to the ground and kneel on me (as trained) for time sufficient to ensure their safety and detain me.

If by some strange turn of events, I end up a convicted child abuser, drunk in the drive through of a fast food restaurant, so drunk that I resist arrest, steal a weapon and attempt to kill one of your officers or anyone, the officers have my permission to shoot me dead.

Because this odd and strange turn of events would mean I have already lost my wife, family, friends and everything I am blessed to live for today. So, I waive all liability and hold your officer(s) and department harmless under these conditions.

I only ask that your officers kneel before their god and pray for peace, strength and endurance.

My family and I will do that same.
