Huma (previously Medopad Ltd) is a British healthcare technology company based in London, UK. It also has offices in Shanghai, California, and New York. It produces applications that integrate health data from existing hospital databases as well as patient wearables and other mobile devices and securely transmits it for use by doctors.

 

In January 2018, Medopad joined UK Prime Minister Theresa May on her trade mission[10] to China meeting President Xi. During the trip it announced over £100m of commercial contracts[11] with major Chinese and international organisations including China Resources and Peking University.

 

Some of Medopad's institutional investors are Healthbox and Sandbox Industries.[16][17] Lord Howard Flight and Tony Brown, Non-Executive Director of the NHS both invested individually.

Robert B. Shapiro (born August 4, 1938 in New York City) is a businessman and attorney who has worked extensively with the biochemical corporations G. D. Searle & Company and Monsanto

 

From 1979 he worked as attorney for the Illinois-based G. D. Searle. In 1982 he became CEO and Chairman of the NutraSweet subsidiary. The FDA approved aspartame's use in soft drinks in November 1983

When G. D. Searle was acquired by Monsanto in 1985, Shapiro moved up the management chain in the ladder, becoming Vice President in 1990, President in 1993 and CEO in 1995. He remained CEO of Monsanto until 2000.
