sorry for delay replying... laborer is always in demand, anywhere. i'm in a Marcellus Shale fracking area, and jobs are going begging. i'm a fossil now but honestly, it's never taken me more than 3 days to find a job when i really wanted one. going to Fla for family is a laudable sentiment, but i suspect that jobs are more scarce there compared to other areas. sometimes you have to go where the work is. maybe take the leap. put your trust in yourself and your guardian angels. liquidate non-essentials, scrape together whatever else you can beg borrow or steal, and bug out. trust providence to guide you to a soft landing. in a rural area, you have a much better odds when putting your faith in the kindness of strangers.
