when i was a kid, every shittin' little flyspeck on the map had their own local police dept. now, due to shrinking tax base,
NONE of them do. did crime increase? NO! if anything, crime in those areas continued a century long decline.
the areas that DID see an increase in crime are the large cities, who also saw a large increase in the police force, along
with a disturbing militarization of the police. a day ago the nearest large city TV news reported on a domestic quarrel.
the response? a platoon of shock troops descended on the neighborhood and locked down an entire block.
can no one else see what is wrong with this picture?
