Thursday on PBS’s “NewsHour,” former Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams made her case for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden to choose her as his running mate.

Host Judy Woodruff asked, “We know Joe Biden is considering you, among others, to be his vice-presidential running mate. Why are you the most qualified? You haven’t served in the Congress and the Senate, you haven’t run a state. What is your answer to that?”

Abrams said, “My answer is that Joe Biden knows who the most qualified person for him to be his partner will be. I have never espoused I am more qualified than anyone else. He has a surfeit of good opportunities and fantastic, smart, capable women. I simply have said when asked if I’m in that number, I would say yes. I have legislative experience. I have deep legislative experience and success on a number of these issues, criminal justice reform, environmental issues, reproductive health, healthcare, economics. Also, I am a small business owner that understands the economy that we have to reform and recover. I am someone who’s worked in foreign policy. I understand the moment that we’re in because I was once an activist who pushed for change, and I used that to propel me to help deliver that change once I was in office. And I think as he looks to select a partner, I think he has no shortage of good choices, and I’m proud to be among the names that he’s considering.”

George Floyd’s Brother Asks United Nations to Investigate U.S. Policing

Philonise Floyd, the brother of George Floyd, the black man who died last month at the hands of Minneapolis police, is asking the United Nations to investigate policing in the United States for racism and “police brutality.”

“The way you saw my brother tortured and murdered on camera is the way black people are treated by police in America,” Philonise Floyd told the globalist organization.

The New York Times reported on the “emergency meeting” of the U.N. Human Rights Council, a rogue group based in Geneva from which President Donald Trump withdrew the U.S. in 2018:

A group of African states presented a draft resolution on Tuesday calling for an international commission of inquiry into abuses resulting in deaths of black people in the United States.

At Wednesday’s session, African states put forth a watered-down version of the earlier draft, one calling instead for Michelle Bachelet, the United Nations human rights chief, to conduct an inquiry with the help of other United Nations experts. That would be a much more modest response than a full-fledged commission of inquiry.

“You in the United Nations are your brothers’ and sisters’ keepers in America, and you have the power to help us get justice for my brother George Floyd,” he said. “I am asking you to help him. I am asking you to help me. I am asking you to help us — black people in America.”

The Times reported that the emergency meeting is only the fifth convened as an urgent debate in its 16-year history

“We are not above scrutiny,” Andrew Bremberg, the American ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, said in a statement, adding that racism is a problem in many places around the world and the U.S. has been addressing policing issues.

Any resolution “that calls out countries by name should be inclusive, noting the many countries where racism is a problem,” Bremberg said.

As Breitbart News has repeatedly reported, the same globalist organization that is threatening the United States ignores flagrant human rights abuses around the world, including in China where blacks were thrown out of hotels and were banned from restaurants during the coronavirus pandemic.

Also in April, McDonald’s temporarily closed a restaurant in Guangzhou, China, because it denied service to black customers.

In May, Human Rights Watch called on Africa to “unequivocally call on the Chinese government to cease all discrimination against Africans in China.”

“The debate on the council’s response was scheduled to continue on Thursday, with a vote on any action perhaps coming as soon as the end of the day,” the Times said.

Tucker Carlson: Atlanta Officer Garrett Rolfe’s Stepmother Fired From Her Job

The stepmother of former Atlanta Police Department officer Garrett Rolfe has purportedly been fired from her job in the wake of Rolfe being charged in the death of Rayshard Brooks, Fox News Channel primetime host Tucker Carlson reported Thursday evening.

“Until today, [Rolfe’s stepmother] — her name is Melissa Rolfe — was the H.R. director at a place called Equity Prime Mortgage in Atlanta, Georgia, but today she was let go and she is no longer in that role” Carlson stated. “Apparently, she was fired and her only crime was being Officer Rolfe’s stepmother.”

The Fox News host continued: “According to sources familiar with the matter, who spoke to this program, Rolfe was promised that her job was safe, but today she was told, ‘We have to terminate our relationship with you.'”

“No other explanation was offered, and honestly, no other explanation was needed. It was obvious what happened,” Carlson added. “Rolfe has already been scrubbed from the company’s website, wiped away like the Bolsheviks did with those who lost favor with Joseph Stalin.”

Carlson’s report comes after Rolfe was charged Wednesday with murder in connection to the fatal shooting of Brooks.

In addition to the murder count, Garrett Rolfe has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault and seven counts of violation of oath by an officer, all felonies. Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard announced the charges during a news conference.

Rolfe shot and killed Rayshard Brooks on Friday while trying to arrest the man for suspected DUI.

Another officer on the scene, Devin Brosnan, also faces one count of aggravated assault and two counts of violation of oath. Howard said Brosnan, who is on administrative duty, plans to testify against Rolfe in the state’s case.

Video from the arrest released by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation appears to show Brooks taking a Taser from an officer, running from police, and then turning back toward them before Rolfe shot at him.

Burke County, Georgia, Sheriff Alfonzo Williams told CNN Tuesday that Atlanta police officers’ use of deadly force was “very necessary” and “there’s nothing malicious or sadistic” in their conduct.

“It was very necessary. The Fourth Amendment allows it. This is the objective, reasonableness standard,” said Williams. “There’s nothing malicious or sadistic in the way these officers behaved. It’s very unfortunate that the law enforcement leaders in the state of Georgia have not come out and stood together on this case. I think it’s political and it’s senseless.”

Williams added: We’re sending the wrong message to our black youth. We’re telling them that it’s okay that they can run from the police, they can take a weapon from the police, they can fight with the police and point a weapon at the police and expect nothing to happen. That is the wrong message to send to black youth. Now, we cannot — we cannot, Brianna, put this case with the Ahmaud Arbery case, nor the George Floyd case. When I saw the George Floyd case, I was outraged.”

Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy called for white Christians to repent for racism Sunday after his company suffered vandalism in about a dozen of the chain’s restaurants over the past week.

Cathy, the son of Chick-fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy, spoke in a roundtable discussion with Passion City founder Louie Giglio and Christian rapper Lecrae. He said whites should not condemn the behavior of destroying others’ property. Instead, he said, they should have empathy for the underlying frustration.

“[M]y plea would be for the white people, rather than point fingers at that kind of criminal effort, would be to see the level of frustration and exasperation and almost the sense of hopelessness that exists on some of those activists within the African-American community,” he said.

Aunt Jemima’s Great-Grandson Upset Family Legacy Will Be ‘Erased

A great-grandson of “Aunt Jemima” says that his family legacy will be “erased” now that Quaker Foods plans to eliminate the Aunt Jemima brand of pancake mix and syrup.

“This is an injustice for me and my family. This is part of my history, sir,” said Larnell Evans Sr. to Patch.com. “The racism they talk about, using images from slavery, that comes from the other side — white people.”

The great-grandson went on to say that “it hurts” to know that Quaker Foods’ answer to current events in America is to “erase my great-grandmother’s history.”

Evans, a 66-year-old Marine Corps veteran, is the great-grandson of Anna Short Harrington, who portrayed Aunt Jemima after the death of Nancy Green — the first Aunt Jemima who made her debut at Chicago’s World’s Fair in 1893.

Harrington was born on a South Carolina plantation where her family worked as sharecroppers and was later discovered in 1935 by a Quaker Oats representative at the New York State Fair while serving pancakes, reports Patch.com.

D.C. Police Union Survey Shows 71 Percent Are Considering Leaving

A D.C. Police Union survey of its members released Thursday showed that of nearly 600 who responded, 71 percent are considering leaving the Metropolitan Police Department.

“71% of members polled are considering leaving MPD,” a press release said. The survey was conducted on Tuesday.

Of those, 25 percent said they may retired earlier than planned. Thirty-five percent are seeking jobs at other law enforcement agencies, and 39 percent are considering leaving law enforcement altogether, the survey said.

The survey was in response to emergency legislation passed by the D.C. Council last week that the union said would have “wide ranging negative impacts to the working condition of police officers in the District.” D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser has not yet signed it, but the legislation is backed by a veto-proof majority.

“These changes will have far reaching effects on hiring and attrition,” the union said.

The union’s statement said the bill would eliminate collective bargaining rights for employees, makes it exceedingly more difficult to charge a suspect with assaulting a police officer, and changes body worn camera policy in a way it can no longer be used as an evidence collection tool WTF

It also said that the bill changes the language in use of force policy in the most utterly confusing way that “even the Councilmembers could not figure out the intent or the impact of the language.”

Ninety-six percent of respondents said they thought the bill would allow crime to increase in the city; 88 percent said officer safety will decrease; and 93 percent said discipline of police would increase.

The union said in a statement:

The DC Police Union remains steadfastly committed to important discussions on police reform and is always willing to be on the cutting edge of responsible and professional policing, but the idea that our department has systemic racism which manifests itself in brutality and civil rights violations is preposterous.

The MPD has been at the forefront of police reform for 20 years. Problems that exist in other cities do not exist here. The language in the emergency legislation completely degrades the rights and working conditions afforded to police officers in this city. This legislation will cause an exodus of our best police officers and make hiring and retaining qualified employees next to impossible.

The D.C. Council passed the bill after protests and riots swept the country, including in D.C. in response to the death of George Floyd, after a Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck.

Tens of thousands of National Guardsmen were activated by governors all over the country, including by President Trump in Washington, to quell the violence, looting, and crime that accompanied many of the protests. A number of law enforcement were injured.

Bowser commissioned the painting of “Black Lives Matter” on a street in Washington, where activists promptly added “= Defund the Police.”

Teen Vogue Tweets ‘Welcome to Marx

In a bizarre move, a major magazine designed to influence an entire generation of teenagers — Teen Vogue — tweeted “Welcome to Marx!,” promoting a 2018 article hailing Karl Marx as a “legend” and adding that the communist philosopher’s ideas “are more prevalent than you might realize.”

“You may have come across communist memes on social media,” begins the 2018 Teen Vogue piece. “The man, the meme, the legend behind this trend is Karl Marx, who developed the theory of communism, which advocates for workers’ control over their labor (instead of their bosses).”

But of course, anyone who has studied communism understands that the results of the ideology being put into practice isn’t what anyone in good conscience would refer to as “workers’ control over their labor,” but rather, a worldwide death toll of roughly 100 million.

The Teen Vogue piece says the Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx is taught in schools, and that Marx is one of the most assigned “economists” in U.S. college courses. So Teen Vogue sat down with two educators and interviewed them regarding how they teach their students about “the legacy of Marx’s ideas and how they’re relevant to the current political climate.”

One of the educators the magazine interviewed was former Drexel University professor George Ciccariello-Maher, who “challenges his students to envision a society without capitalism,” and who also said in 2016 that all he wants for Christmas is “white genocide” — which is actually fitting for someone who flirts with Marxism, as “everyone who advocated genocide called himself a socialist,” according to George Watson’s 1998 book, The Lost Literature of Socialism.

“Marx says we live under capitalism [but] capitalism has not always existed,” said Ciccariello-Maher to Teen Vogue. “It’s something that came into being and something that, as a result, just on a logical level, could disappear, could be overthrown, could be abolished, could be irrelevant.”

“There’s this myth of the free market, but Marx shows very clearly that capitalism emerged through a state of violence,” added Ciccariello-Maher, ironically.

Teen Vogue ominously went on to say that “many Marxists” believe “the current socioeconomic system is precarious and can be overthrown at any time.”

The magazine also interviewed public high school teacher Mark Brunt, who said that he likes to do “a little role-playing” with his students, where he plays the bourgeoisie, and his students play the proletariat. “I do a little role-playing with [my class],” Brunt told Teen Vogue. “[I tell them,] I’m the boss, you’re my workers, and you want to try to take me down. I have the money. I own the factory. I control the police. I control the military. I control the government. What do you guys have

Brunt goes on to explain that his students usually react by blinking at him and appearing clueless, until he hints that they have one thing that he, as “the boss,” doesn’t have.

“It’s always just one student, whose hand shoots up and goes, ‘We outnumber you!'” added Brunt.

Brunt said he goes on to introduce his students to Marx’s definition of the “proletariat” and the “bourgeoisie,” adding that the tension between the two groups make up the class conflict, or class struggle.

EEOC: Employers Can’t Make Employees Take Coronavirus Antibody Test

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) said on Wednesday that businesses can’t require their employees to take the coronavirus antibody test because to do so would violate the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

The new guidance comes after the federal agency had given employers the green light to test employees to see if they had the virus.

This latest move from the agency tasked with preventing workplace discrimination comes as the EEOC has been constantly updating documents surrounding the coronavirus and employers’ response to it.

The Law 360 website reported on the development:

The latest entry deals with antibody or serology tests, which determine whether a person was ever infected with COVID-19 — even if they were asymptomatic — and built up antibodies to the disease. Pointing to recent guidance by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that says in part that antibody tests shouldn’t be used to determine if someone is immune to the virus or as a basis for decisions about allowing workers back on the job, the EEOC said that employers for now can’t mandate those tests before allowing people back to work.

“An antibody test constitutes a medical examination under the ADA,” the EEOC said. “In light of CDC’s interim guidelines that antibody test results ‘should not be used to make decisions about returning persons to the workplace,’ an antibody test at this time does not meet the ADA’s ‘job related and consistent with business necessity’ standard for medical examinations or inquiries for current employees.”

“Therefore, requiring antibody testing before allowing employees to re-enter the workplace is not allowed under the ADA,” the EEOC said.

According to the CDC, serologic tests also can be problematic for potential false positives and no firm evidence yet that having the antibody means that an individual is immune to the virus for some period of time.

“Serologic testing should not be used to determine immune status in individuals until the presence, durability, and duration of immunity is established,” the CDC said.
