US Chick-Fil-A’s CEO takes knee & shines shoes of black rapper to win pardon for whites’ ‘shameful oblivion’
Dan Cathy, CEO of the Chick-Fil-A fast-food restaurant chain, publicly polished the sneakers of the black rapper Lecrae. The son of the Chick-Fil-A founder said he did it to recognize white people’s “oblivion” to racial injustice.
“Most of us white people, we’re out-of-sight, out-of-mind oblivious to it,” Dan Cathy said.
Kneeling at the feet of the Christian rapper during a panel discussion at the Passion City Church in Atlanta, Georgia, the CEO then started to polish the artist’s shoes.
“If we… find somebody that needs to have their shoes shined, we just need to go over and shine their shoes.”
Shoes or sneakers, it doesn’t matter, according to Cathy, who claimed any personal touch would do, and afterwards, moved to hug the rapper.

Ex-head of Chuvashia who sued Putin for ‘unlawful dismissal’ dies after being hospitalized with Covid-19
One of Russia’s more colorful regional heads, Mikhail Ignatyev, has died after being diagnosed with Covid-19. The former top official in Chuvashia was fired from his job earlier this year following a host of embarrassing scandals.
In January, Ignatyev was heavily criticized after calling for critical journalists to be “wiped out.” His next gaffe came later that month, when he was filmed humiliating a local firefighter. During a presentation ceremony for new fire trucks, Ignatyev held a set of keys over the head of a fireman, making the emergency services worker jump in the air to collect them. He was removed from his post just days later.
Last month, he started proceedings to sue President Vladimir Putin for alleged unlawful dismissal. Ignatyev, who passed away aged 58 on Thursday, had been in a St. Petersburg hospital suffering from coronavirus. He died of heart failure following a “massive heart attack,” complicated by bilateral pneumonia.

Another US Warship Reportedly Enters Black Sea “to Reinforce Regional Security”
On Wednesday, Russia's National Defence Control Centre said the nation's military is keeping a watchful eye on a mission by a US Navy destroyer that earlier arrived in the Black Sea.
The dock landing ship USS Oak Hill has entered the Black Sea, joining another American warship there, the Ukrainian media reported on Friday.
The report comes a day after the US Navy said in a press release that the Oak Hill had kicked off “its northbound transit into the Black Sea […] to conduct maritime security operations and strengthen relationships with regional partners and allies”.

MOSCOW, May 3. /TASS/. The number of coronavirus cases in the Russian Armed Forces and military educational institutions was over 3,000 from March to May 3, the Ministry of Defense said in its bulletin released on Sunday.
"1,254 servicemen with positive results were found during the 100% screening in the Russian Armed Forces from March to May 3 of this year," the Ministry said.
