Fuck the Drake equation. It's useless.
One needs only to understand the conditions which led to life on our planet to know that most certainly there are other beings within our universe.
Unfortunately, we live in a reeeeeeeeeally big universe.
So, even though aliens most certainly DO exist, there's still a huge matter of them getting here, or us reaching their home planet.
Impossible? No. But we still have a long way to go before we even catch a good glimpse of an actual planet outside our solar system. Meanwhile, we're still unsure about how we send people to the moon, even though we supposedly did that already some 50+ years ago…
Then of course there is a matter of time which it takes to reach other neighboring planets, which of course means we are a loooooooooong ways away from leaving this solar system. Then we have to consider a direction of travel to commit to, should we decide to leave. One could make a Drake-like equation for these factors. However, it soon becomes depressing, knowing that we have far too many problems already on clown world, and a venture like this is likely a HUUUUUUUGE waste of both time and money, to say the least. At least where we are today. It's fucking fantasy land type shit
