On the ground, in Richmond, VA

For proof: The attached images are my own— pictures of the central police station in downtown Richmond.

The front windows have been smashed in. Last week, the police had 20+ dump trucks they were using to barricade the building and the parking lot across the street, which the National Guard has been using for staging. (Shown in picture)

This week, the police have erected concrete sewer pipes to use as barricades—to block the road on either side of the building. This is supplemented with the aforementioned dump trucks.

It looks and feels like a war zone, down here. Everybody is extremely tense. Every building is boarded up, as if preparing for the apocalypse.

I just spoke with a private security vendor, who was hired by a nearby business to protect their employees. He told me (and the business’s employees) to stay the hell out of downtown Richmond, this weekend.

They are expecting a MASSIVE demonstration; one that will dwarf what we saw in Charlottesville, in both scale and fury. It is fully expected that this will become violent, and the mayor/press will do nothing to inform the residents both in and outside the city as to how dangerous this situation will be.

Thought I should report it, to this board.
