Meghan Markle Believes She Is ‘Destined’ to ‘Uproot From England’, Fight Racism in US

The United States, as well as many major cities around the world, are witnessing an ongoing wave of demonstrations against racism and police brutality in the wake of the murder of George Floyd and many other African-Americans who have died at the hands of white police.

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex and spouse of the UK's Prince Harry, feels that her “gnawing urgency to uproot from England” and move to the United States now makes sense, as the former royal believes she is “'destined” to assist in ending systemic racism in the US, the Daily Mail reported on Friday, citing an unnamed close friend to Markle.

The Duchess, now living in Los Angeles, California, her family hometown after resigning from the UK royal family with her husband Prince Harry in April, reportedly said it is her fate to have the opportunity to be at the “forefront” of the ongoing anti-racism movement in the US.

“Meghan said her work as a leader is more important than ever right now and that she’s been speaking with Oprah [Winfrey] and other community leaders on how she can be part of the solution,” the unnamed insider said, quoted by the outlet. “Meghan feels like her mission goes far beyond acting. She said she wants to use her voice for change and hasn’t ruled out a career in politics”.

Earlier this month, Markle gave a passionate speech on the unnecessary killing of George Floyd by police in a video address to the graduating class of the Immaculate Heart High School in Los Angeles, her former high school. The 38-year-old former royal stressed that Floyd’s life, as well as the lives of all African-Americans killed by the US police, matters.

Commenting on Markle's recent cutting off with former friend Jessica Mulroney after the latter threatened to prosecute African-American influencer Sasha Exeter following an Instagram dispute over racism, the unnamed insider told the Daily Mail that the Duchess was “absolutely mortified” by the fashion stylist’s “tone-deaf” threats.

“Meghan is absolutely mortified that she’s been dragged into this complete mess. She said Jessica is in no way a racist, but the way she handled the situation [with the fashion influencer] was tone-deaf and heartbreaking,” a close friend who was not named told the newspaper. “Meghan said friends reflect friends and because of what’s at stake she can no longer be associated with Jessica, at least not in public. She has to do what she has to do in order to preserve her dignity and her own reputation”.

An ongoing wave of anti-racism and anti-police-brutality violence protests across all 50 of the United Satres as well as an in most major urban centers of the nation and many countries around the world was triggered by the killing of an African-American man, George Floyd, by white police officers in Minnesota’s city of Minneapolis on 25 May.

Radical Islamist and Far Left Activist Umar Lee Launches Petition to Rename St. Louis City

Umar Lee once threatened to behead his critics and watch them squeal “like Daniel Pearl.”

Umar Lee is now passing around a petition to remove the grand St. Louis Statue from Art Hill in Forest Park in St. Louis.

A petition has been made with hopes of changing the city’s name in St. Louis and taking down a statue of its namesake, Saint Louis IX in Forest Park. The creators say the city’s name is “outright disrespect” to Jewish and Muslim residents and they’re asking for support.

The petition on Change.org was started this week, after the statue of Christopher Columbus in Tower Grove Park was taken away. Local writer Umar Lee is a co-signer of the petition.

“For those unfamiliar with King Louis IX he was a rabid anti-semite who spearheaded many persecutions against the Jewish people. Centuries later Nazi Germany gained inspiration and ideas from Louis IX as they embarked on a campaign of murderous genocide against the Jewish people. Louis IX was also vehemently Islamophobic and led a murderous crusade against Muslims which ultimately cost him his life,” the petition states.

The statue of Louis IX, which now sits on top of Art Hill in front of the St. Louis Art Museum, was unveiled in 1906. It served as the symbol of St. Louis until the Gateway Arch was completed in 1965.

Louis IX is the only King of France to be canonized in the Catholic Church. He became king when he was 12-years-old and is credited with changing the judicial process in France, with trials no longer being settled by combat, but instead by evidence and Roman law.

Louis IX, was born at Poissy, France in 1214. He succeeded to the throne at the early age of twelve under the regency of his mother Blanche of Castille. Having married Margaret of Provence in 1234, he was the father of eleven children.

Louis, a follower of St. Francis of Assisi, was known for his ardent piety and sanctity. Unlike other Kings who gave customary offerings to the poor, Louis invited the poor to his own table each day, where he waited on them and attended to their needs. His personal interest in the poor led to the founding of numerous charitable institutions including hospitals for the destitute and lepers.

Known as the “Peace King”, he managed to mediate between the popes and the German Emperors which kept France out of war. As a Ruler, he dispensed justice fairly and with great attention to the needs of his subjects. He was known for his scrupulous honesty.

Ardent to the Church of Rome, he collaborated with the Papal Inquisition which fought to enforce religious orthodoxy throughout his Realm.

Louis was also a great patron of the arts and architecture. During his reign, the famous Sorbonne Theological School was formed in Paris and the gothic jewel, the Sainte Chapelle in Paris, was built as his personal chapel. In the Sainte Chapelle, he enshrined the true Crown of Thorns which he had secured from the Emperor in Constantinople.

Louis led two Crusades to the Holy Land, both ending in catastrophe. On his first crusade, he was taken prisoner by Muslim forces in 1250 for which his countrymen were forced to pay a ransom. On his second crusade in 1270, Louis is credited as having restored the holy site at Tunis and having personally assisted in the burial of his dead soldiers.

Upon his death at Tunis in 1270, he was laid out on a bed of ashes in the shape of the cross.

Revered as a saint before his death, he was canonized by Pope Boniface VII in 1297.

St. Louis, the only King of France to be canonized was recently hailed as the “the greatest of all Saint-Kings” by biographer Jacques LeGoff.

The Greens have announced Indigenous activist Lidia Thorpe as Richard Di Natale’s replacement

The Indigenous activist who called for Victoria to be renamed due to its colonial connotations will replace Richard Di Natale as a Greens Senator.

The Greens have today announced that Indigenous activist Lidia Thorpe will replace former leader Richard Di Natale in the Australian Senate.

Ms Thorpe, 47, was locked in as the person to fill the retiring former party leader’s vacant seat following a ballot of Victorian members.

“Please join us in congratulating Lidia, a powerful voice for all of us,” the Greens tweeted this morning.

Ms Thorpe, a Gunnai-Kurnai & Gunditjmara woman, brings the number of Indigenous politicians federally to five.

DOJ Says Allowing Transgender Athletes To Compete Against Females Is ‘Fundamentally Unfair’

The Department of Justice filed a statement Friday backing Idaho’s Fairness in Women’s Sports Act, which has been challenged by a lawsuit aimed at preventing the bill from becoming law.

Republican Gov. Brad Little signed the nation’s first “Fairness in Women’s Sports Act” on March 30, 2020. It will take effect July 1 and would prevent female sports teams from allowing a transgender athlete who identifies as a female to compete, WHIO TV 7 previously reported.

The American Civil Liberties Union and Legal Voice (ACLU) filed a lawsuit in April aimed at preventing the bill from becoming law. ACLU called the bill discriminatory and alleged that it is an invasion of privacy, WHIO TV 7 reported.

“Allowing biological males to compete in all-female sports is fundamentally unfair to female athletes,” Attorney General William P. Barr said according to a press release Friday. “Under the Constitution, the Equal Protection Clause allows Idaho to recognize the physiological differences between the biological sexes in athletics. Because of these differences, the Fairness Act’s limiting of certain athletic teams to biological females provides equal protection.”

“This limitation is based on the same exact interest that allows the creation of sex-specific athletic teams in the first place — namely, the goal of ensuring that biological females have equal athletic opportunities. Single-sex athletics is rooted in the reality of biological differences between the sexes and should stay rooted in objective biological fact.”

The DOJ’s comments were filed as “a statement of interest in Idaho federal court,” according to the press release. Barr challenged the ACLU’s claim that the Constitution’s Equal Protection Clause protects transgender athletes.

“In its statement of interest, the United States explains that the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution does not require States to abandon their efforts to provide biological women with equal opportunity to compete for, and enjoy the life-long benefits that flow from, participation in school athletics in order to accommodate the team preferences of transgender athletes,” according to the DOJ’s press release.

“Put differently, the Constitution does not require Idaho to provide the special treatment plaintiffs request, under which biological males are allowed to compete against biological females if and only if the biological males are transgender.”

The DOJ follows two female college athletes who have requested to be part of the lawsuit. The two young women, Madison Kenyon, 19 and Mary Marshall, 20, are being represented by Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) and wish for the lawsuit to be dismissed.
