BUT… it was NOT planned that way. "they" are not nearly that prescient. tv was merely a tech advance to supplant radio and compete with cinema.
only after a few decades did they realize just how powerful the audio/visual combination was. images to hypnotize and words to program.
like i said, watch tv commercials from the 50s/60s. see how innocent they are. then watch current commercials.
