UN Deletes Pro-Antifa Tweet After Backlash

President Trump wants to label Antifa a terrorist organization, which he first announced late last month in response to mayhem unleashed related to the George Floyd protests, which in many cities included rioting, looting, and large-scale vandalism.

He had declared so via Twitter on May 31 in follow-up to Attorney General William Barr's statement at the time: "The violence instigated and carried out by antifa and other similar groups in connection with the rioting is domestic terrorism and will be treated accordingly."

To the surprise of many, the United Nations has now issued a statement rebuking the White House attempt to impose the legal designation. Upon a UN statement being issued on Friday, counter-terrorism expert Max Abrahms at first thought it was a joke, but no it's not The Onion:

The UN Geneva office cited unnamed experts associated with its Human Rights Council to express "profound concern over a recent statement by the US Attorney-General describing [Antifa] and other anti-fascist activists as domestic terrorists, saying it undermines the rights to freedom of expression and of peaceful assembly in the country."

This even after there's been widespread uncertainty and debate over just who or what the group actually is. Or Antifa might more appropriately be seen as a loosely defined movement espousing radical Leftist ideology. But the new UN statement appears positively supportive given it clearly asserted that Antifa is composed of mere "anti-fascist activists".

The unusual UN tweet and statement was widely mocked via conservative social media, for example with OAN journalist Jack Posobiec tweeting: “The United Nations is running cover for an international extremist group that has conducted violent insurrectionist attacks across North America and Europe.”

He further stated ironically: “Antifa doesn’t exist and also the UN just endorsed them.”

Fatal Fentanyl: A Forensic Analysis

Truth is the first victim in politics. Factions and passions rule. Random facts are picked as weapons, no one thinks things through.

We need to understand the facts surrounding the death of George Floyd.

Many key facts are being ignored:

Floyd’s blood tests showed a concentration of Fentanyl of about three times the fatal dose.

Fentanyl is a dangerous opioid 50 times more potent than heroin. It has rapidly become the most common cause of death among drug addicts.

The knee hold used by the police is not a choke hold, it does not impede breathing. It is a body restraint and is not known to have ever caused fatal injury.

Floyd already began to complain “I can’t breathe” a few minutes before the neck restraint was applied, while resisting the officers when they tried to get him into the squad car. Fentanyl affects the breathing, causing death by respiratory arrest.

It was normal procedure to restrain Floyd because he was resisting arrest, probably in conjunction with excited delirium (EXD), an episode of violent agitation brought on by a drug overdose, typically brief and ending in death from cardiopulmonary arrest.

The official autopsy did indeed give cardiopulmonary arrest as the cause of death, and stated that injuries he sustained during the arrest were not life-threatening.

Videos of the arrest do not show police beating or striking Floyd, only calmly restraining him

In one video Floyd is heard shouting and groaning loudly and incoherently while restrained on the ground, which appears to be a sign of the violent, shouting phase of EXD. His ability to resist four officers trying to get him into the squad car is typical of EXD cases. A short spurt of superhuman strength is a classic EXD symptom.

Minneapolis police officers have been charged with Floyd’s murder. Yet all the evidence points to the fact that Floyd had taken a drug overdose so strong that his imminent death could hardly have been prevented. In all likelihood, the police were neither an intentional nor accidental cause of his death. These crucial facts have been completely ignored in the uproar.

It is widely believed that George Floyd died from a police officer’s knee on his neck, whether due to asphyxiation or neck injury. That may be how it looks, to a naïve viewer. In reality, the county autopsy report says he died of a heart attack,[1] and states that there were “no life-threatening injuries.” Then how could they conclude it was homicide?

When scientists review scientific papers, they look primarily at the evidence, and give less weight to the conclusions, which are only the other fellow’s opinions. To blindly follow “expert opinions” is the Authoritarian View of Knowledge. This is no real knowledge at all, because to assess whether an expert is always right, we would need infinite knowledge, and doubly so when experts disagree. Not thinking for oneself is not really thinking.

So let us stick to the evidence. The county’s ambivalent autopsy also included the following hard facts: “Toxicology Findings: Blood samples collected at 9:00 p.m. on May 25th, before Floyd died, tested positive for the following: Fentanyl 11 ng/mL, Norfentanyl 5.6 ng/mL, … Methamphetamine 19 ng/mL … 86 ng/mL of morphine,” but draws no conclusions therefrom, noting only that “Quantities are given for those who are medically inclined.”

Woke Companies Mark Juneteenth While Reportedly Profiting from China’s Muslim Slave Labor

At least eight global companies identified as benefitting from China’s enslavement of Muslim minorities published statements celebrating Juneteenth, an American holiday marking the end of slavery in the country.

A Breitbart News analysis found that the eight companies are Abercrombie & Fitch, Amazon, Apple, FILA, General Motors, Google, Nike, and Ralph Lauren.

Three other companies identified as benefitting from forced labor by Muslim minorities in China — Sony, H&M, and Gap — were more cautious in their approach, issuing statements on social media against hatred and racism and in support of diversity on the days ahead of July 19 without mentioning Juneteenth.

Breitbart News gleaned the name of the companies commemorating Juneteenth from a list of over 80 identified by the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI), a non-partisan think tank, as “directly or indirectly benefiting from the use” of Uyghurs working in factories across China “under conditions that strongly suggest forced labor.”

This report found overlap between the 80-plus companies identified by the think tank and the lists of companies that vowed to observe Juneteenth this year, compiled by news outlets and Hella Creative, self-described as a Bay Area collective and cited by several media outlets.

While about a handful of the named companies honored Juneteenth as a paid holiday, others observed June 19 with moments of silence, writing posts on social media marking the day, canceling meetings, offering learning opportunities, and making donations to causes affecting the black community. The Google and Apple calendars also marked Juneteenth as a holiday.

A significant number of the 83 companies identified by ASPI did come out in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Also known as Black Independence Day, June 19 or Juneteenth is the date identified as marking the emancipation of the last remaining slaves in the U.S. in 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation legally ended slavery.

People and businesses across the United States commemorate the day, but the federal government does not recognize Juneteenth as an official holiday. Nevertheless, some presidents, from Bill Clinton to Donald Trump, have made presidential proclamations and remarks to ceremoniously honor a certain group or call attention to specific issues or events, the Congressional Research Service (CRS) noted early this month.

U.S. lawmakers from both parties have also reportedly passed resolutions, made floor statements, issued press releases, or entered specific remarks into the congressional record to recognize June 19 as Juneteenth.

After being celebrated primarily by black American communities since 1865, the vast majority (47) of states and the District of Columbia recognized Juneteenth as an official state holiday or observance, with Texas leading the way in 1980, CRS pointed out.

Juneteenth, particularly the push for celebrating it as an official holiday, has gained more prominence and support among government officials and corporations as the nation continues to rally behind the Black Lives Matter movement in the wake of the protests and riots over the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

Reading attack: Police say ‘no indication’ BLM rally linked to stabbing amid reports of several dead at protest site

Multiple people were stabbed at Forbury Gardens, a park in the southern city of Reading, with at least three reported dead by local media. The site hosted a Black Lives Matter protest several hours before the incident unfolded.

The Telegraph reported at least three people have been killed, while two more have been hospitalized in critical condition.

Police, however, have yet to confirm any casualties, saying only that “a number of people sustained injuries” in the wake of the incident.

The alleged stabbing prompted a major police response.

Multiple ambulances as well as medical helicopters were seen responding to the incident.

Muhammad Ali’s Son Believes His Dad Would Have Seen BLM Protesters as ‘Devils’

The legendary heavyweight boxer and anti-war/civil rights activist was an outspoken proponent of racial equality, but also famously distanced himself from all forms of bigotry, whether by white or by black Americans, by splitting with the Nation of Islam.

Muhammad Ali Jr says his father would have hated Black Lives Matter and the violent protests which have gripped America in the wake of the killing of George Floyd by a white police officer.

“My father would have said, ‘they ain’t nothing but devils’. My father said ‘all lives matter’. I don’t think he’d agree,” Ali Jr, the boxing legend’s only biological son, told the New York Post.

Calling BLM “racist” and divisive, Ali Jr insisted that “everybody’s life matters,” and that “God loves everyone – he never singled anyone out.”

“It’s a racial statement,” he said of the movement’s name. “It’s pitting black people against everyone else. It starts racial things to happen; I hate that,” he said.

Ali Jr also blasted violent protesters, saying that while peaceful protests were fine, “don’t bust up s***, don’t trash the place.” He suggested that while the white Minneapolis police officer’s killing of George Floyd was wrong, many people don’t “realize there was more footage than what they showed. The guy resisted arrest, the officer was doing his job, but he used the wrong tactic.”

The boxing legend’s son defended cops in general, emphasizing that “not all the police are bad,” and that there’s “just a few” who are. “There’s a handful of police that are crooked, they should be locked up.” He added that he personally had “never had a bad scene with a cop. They’ve always been nice and protect me. I don’t have a problem with them.”

Columbus, MS Board of Supervisors Vote to Keep Confederate Statue – Board President Says African Americans Have Remained Dependent Since Slavery

The Columbus, Mississippi County Board of Directors voted 3-2 to keep up their Confederate statue. County Board President Harry Sanders said, “History is worth preserving.”

Sanders followed up his comments saying he thinks the black community is the only ethnic group that has “problems” with history and have “remained dependent” since then.

Now there is a movement for Board President Sanders to resign.

Local officials and community leaders are condemning Lowndes County Board of Supervisors President Harry Sanders for comments he made about African Americans being “dependent” since slavery ended and not assimilating to American society like other ethnicities.

Some county and city officials are calling for his resignation.

Sanders gave his comments to The Dispatch after a 3-2 board vote along racial lines Monday against the relocation of a Confederate monument that sits at the courthouse lawn.

The longtime board president voted with the majority, saying he thinks history is worth preserving and the “atrocity” needs to be remembered. However, he further claimed that he thinks the black community is the only ethnic minority group that has “problems” with the history of slavery and have remained “dependent” since then.

“They didn’t have to go out and earn any money, they didn’t have to do anything,” Sanders told The Dispatch Monday. “Whoever owned them took care of them, fed them, clothed them, worked them. They became dependent, and that dependency is still there.”

Floyd Family Attorney Warns Removing Confederate Statues May Repeat US History

The US, as well as many major cities around the globe, are witnessing an ongoing wave of anti-racism and anti-police-brutality protests sparked by the killing of George Floyd and many other African-Americans at the hands of white police officers. Many Confederate statues and monuments have been removed, either officially or by demonstrators.

Ben Crump, attorney for George Floyd’s family, said on Saturday during a Fox News interview that he is worried about rushing to remove Confederate monuments, calling on Americans to be patient and take a “broad view” of the main issue.

“I think we have to figure out how to honor people who have done things that are beneficial to society, and if they did things that were not beneficial to society, that we can examine in the lens of having a broad view of what we believe as Americans represents the best attributes of our national identity, then we should look at that whether it should be a situation where, if we keep statues up like that, we tell the history of that individual so people will know the whole story,” Crump expanded.

The lawyer, who represents several African-American families, members of which have been killed by white police officers, warned that taking the action of simply removing the monuments without understanding “how we can learn from those things”, could repeat history.

“I’m not sure pulling the statues down is the right thing if we now don't get the lessons to understand how we can learn from those things, so we don't repeat those mistakes of the past. You know, they say history – if not studied – we will often repeat it,” Crump told Fox News host Neil Cavuto.

On Friday, protesters brought down the only Confederate monument in Washington DC – a statue of Confederate General Albert Pike, a commander of the Confederate States Army – in the wake of demonstrations celebrating 155 years since the end of slavery in the United States.

Commenting on the murder of Rayshard Brooks, another African-American killed by a white police officer in a drive-through line of a fast-food restaurant in Atlanta on 12 June, Crump said he that hopes the district attorney would “examine all the attendant circumstances” in the case, especially “when it comes to the whole issue of police use of force”.

“It should be fair for police officers just as much as I believe it should be fair for citizens whether they are black people, white people, brown people or red people,” the Houston-based lawyer said. “We have to make sure that when we quote Thomas Jefferson's words that all are created equally that we honor those words in America by saying we want equal consideration and equal justice under the law for all Americans”.

On 25 May, an African-American resident of Minneapolis, George Floyd, was killed in police custody after one of the several white officers involved in the arrest knelt on Floyd’s neck for eight minutes and 46 seconds as he begged for air.

The videotaped incident has sparked a massive and ongoing wave of protests against racism and police brutality across all 50 of the United States and most of the nation's larger urban areas, as well as many major cities around the world.
