It starts with the individual knowing they will never know everything, and it's okay not to know. It's normal not to know. Until you find out. Then you know.

The gap in knowledge you've identifyed isn't necessarily an issue. I've found young ppl to be more compassionate, honest and intouch with their feelings and each other. This social shift is heart warming and healthy for a non violent world. Level one where we live without wars.

A perceived lack of one skill set in a generation over another has been questioned by the older generations for forever.

But to answer your notion of instantanenous information vs sheer know-how... This comes through experiance, only.

There's a reason why they say 'You can't put a wise head on young sholders'.

Allowing young ppl to grow organically is best.
