Ansel Elgort Fans Denounce His Denial of Sexual Assault Accusation, Others Doubt Accuser

Ansel Elgort’s denial that he had non-consensual sex with an underage girl caused an avalanche of reactions from fans Saturday night, who either questioned the sincerity of his statement or his accuser’s truthfulness.

“I cannot claim to understand Gabby’s feelings, but her description of events is simply not what happened. I have never and would never assault anyone,” he said in an Instagram post. He went on to say, “As I look back at my attitude, I am disgusted and ashamed of the way I acted. I am truly sorry. I know I must continue to reflect, learn and work to grow in empathy.”

Reactions poured in fast with commenters voicing strong opinions on both sides

“Perhaps it isn’t what happened in your eyes, but if this is how it felt to her, it’s time to address the way you view sex,” a user named quarantined_chucky wrote. “She was 17, you haven’t provided any evidence to the contrary. We all want to believe that this is a misunderstanding but even if it is a misunderstanding there are still apologies to be made to Gabby directly and explanations to be made as to why she’s saying she was barely 17 at the time, you know?”

“Literally the worst possible response to this. hope you at least personally apologized to her.” Sshannonwilliams wrote.

JLsmits wrote, “This isn’t even an apology. You’re discrediting her, giving excuses, and apologizing for the excuse you gave.”

While .cullen. said, “The fact he’s gonna get away with it is disgusting.”

But others question the motive of the girl, only know as Gabby.

“I think most of your fans realized this is some bulls—. sorry you had to go through this,” carlos_the_barricuda wrote on responded.

Angelinayoujennifer wrote, “She looked pretty comfortable on those pics. She’s just a attention (sic) seeker.”

And _alternative_account__ wrote simply, “there’s no proof.”

On Friday, a woman named Gabby, who did not reveal her last name, tweeted a statement that said the actor, now 26, sexually assaulted her in 2014 when she was 17. Gabby described sobbing and being in pain and said, “I didn’t want to do it the only words that came out of his mouth were ‘we need to break you in.'”

After being attacked by Elgort fans, she deleted her social media accounts.

“West Side Story,” in which Elgort plays the starring role of Tony and Rachel Zegler as Maria, is one of Disney’s major planned releases for the holiday season and is slated for a Dec. 18 wide release. Disney did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.

Dirty Kanza founder fired for saying police shooting of Rayshard Brooks was 'justified'

The founder of Dirty Kanza, Jim Cummins, has been fired by the organisers of the popular gravel race over a social media post in which he claimed the shooting of a black man by police in Atlanta this week was "justified".

Cummins, who set up Dirty Kanza in 2006, was dismissed from his role as 'Chief Gravel Officer' by Life Time, the company that now runs the event, on Saturday night.

He had posted on Facebook to address the killing of Rayshard Brooks, who was shot dead as police officers tried to arrest him on Friday. Brooks' death came at a time when repeated killings of African Americans by police had led to anti-racism protests across America and the world.

Cummins, whose Facebook account has now been deleted, reposted a video of the attempted arrest two years ago of Daniel Clary, who shot at two police officers and escaped. Cummins added the following message: "Watch this ENTIRE video. Then if you still believe the cop who shot Rayshard Brooks, after he stole the officer's taser and then used it against him, was not justified in shooting Mr. Brooks… then unfriend me now."

Life Time, which also runs the Big Sugar and Crusher in the Tushar gravel events, issued a statement later on Saturday.

"Following a review of the post made by the founder of Dirty Kanza, we found it to be inappropriate and insensitive, and we stand against it as an organization. As an outcome of our investigation, we have parted ways with this individual," it said.

"One of our core principles is to provide safe, trusting, and respectful environments for all our members, customers and team members, while rejecting all actions of prejudice or injustice towards others.

"We will continue to take all matters like this with the same degree of seriousness by conducting thorough reviews and acting any time we believe our company principles have been violated."

Cummins had recently faced accusations that the name of Dirty Kanza was itself racist. Kanza can refer to the Kaw Nation, a native American tribe, and so the event's name was read as a slur by those petitioning for it to be changed. In April, Cummins co-signed an open letter from the race and Kaw Nation chairwoman Lynn Williams in which both said they were "proud to stand alongside one another".

POTUS highlighting the ticket requests, and the FAKE NEWS' obsession of mocking POTUS, now it is clear that the DS has admitted to Election Interference using CHINESE TECH.

Thanks AOC. Job well done.

Wonder how much of her sentence she worked off pulling that stunt?

My question is about GOOGLE. Who gave GOOGLE authorization?

Use the COVID-19 Exposure Notifications System on your Android phone

To help understand whether you've been exposed to someone who reports having COVID-19, you can turn on Exposure Notifications. If you change your mind, you can turn it off.

To use the system, you need to download your public health authority's app.

If you have COVID-19, you may share that info with the app to help alert the people you've been in contact with.

If you've been exposed to someone who has shared they have COVID-19, the app will notify you and give you further instructions.

What you need to get started

Download an app from your region's government public health authority. To find out if an app is available, check with your government.

Turn on your phone's Bluetooth. Learn how to turn on Bluetooth.

Turn on your phone's Location setting. Learn how to turn on Location. The system uses this to scan for Bluetooth signals. The system does not collect or track your location.

How Exposure Notifications work

When you turn on Exposure Notifications within an app from your region's government public health authority, your phone shares random IDs with other nearby phones that also have turned on the Exposure Notifications System.

Throughout the day, your phone and the phones around you exchange random IDs. When your phone detects a random ID from another device, it records and stores the ID.

If someone reports having COVID-19 and their ID is stored on your phone, the app will notify you of next steps to take.

How the app may determine exposure

The government public health authority determines which factors might indicate exposure.

If the app learns that you've come in contact with someone who reports themselves as having COVID-19, the system shares with the app:

The day the contact happened.

How long the contact lasted.

The Bluetooth signal strength of that contact.

The public health authority app is not allowed to use your phone's location.

The Exposure Notifications System itself does not use your location or share other users’ identities with the app, Google, or Apple.

If you have COVID-19

In the public health app, you may report yourself as having COVID-19.

The app may ask you to share your random IDs. This helps the public health authority to notify others.

The app may then check if your random IDs are stored on other people's devices. It may alert others who came in contact with you. Those other people won't know your identity.

How the Exposure Notification System protects your privacy

You decide if and when to share your data.

All of the Exposure Notification matching happens on your device, which means only you and your app know if you report having COVID-19 or been exposed to someone who has reported having COVID-19. Your identity is never shared with other users, Apple, or Google.

When you download a public health authority app, you can opt in to use Exposure Notifications.

If you have COVID-19, you can choose to share your random IDs with the app.

To help prevent tracking, your phone's random ID changes every 10-20 minutes.

Your phone only stores random IDs from the last 14 days.

The public health authority app is not allowed to use your phone's location or track your location in the background.

Only official public health authority apps can use the system.

On Friday, Apple and Google announced a system for tracking the spread of the new coronavirus, allowing users to share data through Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) transmissions and approved apps from health organizations.

The new system, which is laid out in a series of documents and white papers, would use short-range Bluetooth communications to establish a voluntary contact-tracing network, keeping extensive data on phones that have been in close proximity with each other. Official apps from public health authorities will get access to this data, and users who download them can report if they’ve been diagnosed with COVID-19. The system will also alert people who download them to whether they were in close contact with an infected person.

Apple and Google will introduce a pair of iOS and Android APIs in mid-May and make sure these health authorities’ apps can implement them. During this phase, users will still have to download an app to participate in contact-tracing, which could limit adoption. But in the months after the API is complete, the companies will work on building tracing functionality into the underlying operating system, as an option immediately available to everyone with an iOS or Android phone.

Absolutely.

We don't have a Choice. One way or another, they will force their spy tech on us.

We need tech, that isn't DS tech.

We need honest people, to create new Co's, with morals and character.

Or else we need to ditch tech, because clearly, those things can always be hacked, hijacked and used by evil people.

Tom's Family is being Petty.

Tom Petty estate issues cease and desist over Trump's use of song

The family of Tom Petty has issued a formal cease and desist letter to the Donald Trump campaign over its use of his song I Won’t Back Down at a rally in Tulsa on 20 June.

In a statement posted on Twitter, Adria, Annakim, Dana and Jane Petty said the president was “in no way authorised to use this song to further a campaign that leaves too many Americans and common sense left behind”.

They affirmed that the late musician and his family “firmly stand against racism and discrimination of any kind. Tom Petty would not want a song of his used for a campaign of hate. he liked to bring people together.”

Petty’s family declared their support for America and for democracy, “but Donald Trump is not representing the noble ideals of either. We would hate for fans that are marginalised by this administration to think we were complicit in this usage.”

Petty died in 2017 of an accidental drug overdose, with a mix of prescription painkillers, sedatives and an antidepressant being found in his system.

Other musicians have attempted to prevent the Trump campaign from playing their music at his events. In 2015, Neil Young said Trump had not been given permission to use Rockin’ in the Free World in his presidential campaign announcement. Rihanna sent a cease and desist letter over the use of her music at “one of those tragic rallies”.

Elton John, REM, Adele, Guns N Roses, the Rolling Stones, Pharrell, Queen, Prince, Aerosmith and Earth Wind and Fire have also denounced the president’s use of their music.

Trump was expecting huge crowds at the rally in Tulsa on 20 June, but addressed an arena estimated to only be two-thirds full. Reports suggest users of the social media platform TikTok and highly organised K-pop fanbases came together to register for thousands of free tickets to the event with no intention of showing up, driving up attendance expectations.

The New York Times reported that planned overflow events outside the rally were cancelled when an anticipated excess of supporters failed to materialise.

Tick Tock AOC. Thanks for Playing…

“TikTok is a potential counterintelligence threat we cannot ignore,” two prominent senators wrote in a bipartisan letter last week to the acting U.S. national intelligence director. "China is using these apps to advance their foreign policy and globally suppress freedom of speech, expression and other freedoms that we as Americans so deeply cherish," wrote Senator Marco Rubio in a separate letter asking the U.S. Treasury Department to investigate whether TikTok poses a national security threat.
