And the American War of 1812 was really a continuation of the American Revolution, except the British had infiltrated American politics via the Federalist Party.

 

When Thomas Jefferson (proto-Republican Party)defeated the Federalist Party in the election of 1800, the country nearly fell into Civil War. (Very similar to 2016)

 

The subsequent events culminated in the British invasion of 1812, and when America won, the Federalist Party was exposed for their treason, and immediately dissolved.

 

From the ashes of the Federalist Party, arose the Democrat Party in the 1820โ€™s.
